Im a Pipe welder. Most of my work is for petrochemical plants and industrial process plants. Basically I weld the pipes that carry anything that's under extreme pressure, temperature and/or really corrosive. Right now I Should be working a shutdown at the Valero refinery in Texas, but every single contact I know is out of work right now. Personally I've been off work for 4 months as of now due to covid and cant get unemployment because Im a contractor and was in between jobs when everything shut down. I'm also unable to get any of the stimulus checks because my address is technically still my parent's
house because I basically live out of hotels when I'm working. Its safe to say i hate the Us gov right now, but when works good I don't mind it and honestly sometimes its even fun to be at work. Theres just nothing like being a few hundred feet up in the air on a piece of process equipment and looking at the distant city skyline. If anyone knows of anyone hiring combo pipe welders or Id even work in a pipe shop the lead would be greatly appreciated.

Started working at a thrift shop in high school, stayed there for 4 years and took a full time line cook gig at a hotel.

Decided I wanted to make more money so I took the plunge and started working at a cheese factory as a temp in 2018.
With that experience I was able to get hired at a Bel cheese plant on a sanitation crew.

The work is shit but i's $60k a year which ain't bad.
I'm 24 now, hoping to go to school for something within the next couple years. Definitely can't do factory work forever.

that would explain why after 57 posts as of today, you have not posted a single photo

do you actually explore or just troll the Internet?

I actually want to post the pictures on the database but access is denied. I'm not compelled to post pictures otherwise.

Edit: And stay on topic.

Nobody looks at the database. If you want people to see your pictures, forums.

Good advice. He cannot be compelled to do that however

You could grant him Full Member status and let him post all over the DB, he has been replying to just about every thread his post count is up, should be enough get him access unless you think he's a cop or, just using that as an excuse because he actually has no pics to post!

Just a thought.

Financial Analyst, now working 100% from home.
Knock on wood that covid and the related furloughs and layoffs don't change that back to barista. My team has been decimated unfortunately. Although I enjoyed being a barista...

I mean I'm not one to throw stones, I'm currently working as a part time security guard until I can land a job in my field. Unfortunately, most of the best jobs in ecology are with the government, and the government isn't really hiring right now.

I think it's pretty neat. I need to re-up my concealed carry permit. Unfortunately with all of the Covid stuff going, no one around here has been offering the course. I just read an email saying that one of the local places has started offering courses so I need to scramble over there.

I travel solo through way too many remote areas not to have a weapon with me when I'm out and about.

I do research and develop nutrition-related/food service programming for not-for-profit organizations.

No money in non-profits, but I like working with 'challenging' clients. Its rewarding to teach the neurologically atypical, people with addictions and complex health issues how to cook or garden- but like, for a few hours a week.

It is as if I get the rewards of being a social worker but I don't have to do any of the heavy lifting

12 hours of hands on, 23 hours of research and making educational materials. Balanced.

I'm currently finishing my last year in undergrad but have worked in architecture offices and urban planning firms for a majority of my time in college. I recently finished an internship with a large urban planning firm where I was working on waterfront development projects.

I'm currently looking at masters programs in Architecture or Urban Design.
