Northern Ontario Motel

Away from all the hustle and bustle of southern Ontario lie quite a few gems to explore. This one was located in Algoma County, and I got to explore it around 2015, and it was one of my very first explorations.

This motel used to be very unknown until the vandals came around, and everyone and their dog went here. These photos were taken in 2015, and the place has deteriorated a ton since then. The small hamlet that owns the property doesn't know what to do with it, and is just letting it decay. I did not get the chance to explore this whole place, but there are some parts of it that are somehow still preserved while I was there, like the bar, which still have booths. However, it has been 5 years, and its a wreck now, and I doubt that the inside is in the same condition.

Without getting too spcific, is this the one off the major highway?

I was around that way recently and saw lots of places that were abandoned, one looking very similar.

Can confirm, it has not aged well. Here's a photo from July 2021, when I ended up getting back up there.

I can't tell if that's an old green shag carpet or full moss coverage in #3, but I'm guessing the latter!

Probably moss. Here's a shot from the same angle in 2021

While I'm at it, I should post more of my photos from my revisit here.

Various interiors

Roof collapse from 3 different angles.

Not my best work, but it's neat to have comparisons years apart.
