Madison was among the many cities that had anti-quarantine protests yesterday. They didn't even stay in their cars- they were standing shoulder to shoulder waving guns and American flags on the capital square.

Idiots. If everyone abides by the quarantine it would be over much faster. Also I'm pretty sure these protests are the result of an astroturfing campaign which should surprise me but at this point just leaves me even more disappointed.

Just American flags, not Confederate flags?

Anyway, it's almost as dumb as the anti-5G stuff, and significantly more harmful. Anyone who supports these protests should be publicly discredited and humiliated.

Huh, so they're not all alt-right protests? Or are some of them just trying harder to hide it?

Remember what Bill Buckley said:

"By no means do we have a monopoly on crackpots, but compared to the opposition, we seem to have more than our fair share."

My overall experience with the current pandemic is this,

During the last month or so, I've gone from working full time 40 hour weeks, with a lot of OT, like at least 45 min extra everyday, pretty consistently. In the blink of an eye, this has gone to many people laid off, including one on my team, reduced hours for everyone, OT is no longer an option and if you are lucky enough to stay until 5PM, that's when they pretty much say drop whatever work is left and go home. However, in the last month, I've worked maybe three full shifts, and I generally only work 3 days a week now, most days leaving for lunch and going home only 4 hours in.

That said, in Los Angeles we see that there is hardly people on the roads (which is the reason I am being put out of work). Traffic has gone from pretty congested in the mornings and full gridlock after work, to 90MPH average speeds with lots of gaps in traffic and open roads. However, last week I notice a ton more people on the freeways, though average speeds continue to be 90MPH, you no longer have so much room to maneuver the freeways.

Work is still suffering, though it was decently busy, and of my three days this week I actually managed to get full hours for two days, and even 30 min OT one of the days.

It's actually the reason I started getting back into urbex and going out, because I am getting rather bored with video games and being in the house, also with financial restraints I don't go out and drift the cars anymore and run them so hard because the cost of parts and tires can hurt right now.

Already loaded on GoPro gear I decided to go out and see what I can find, it's still "isolation" and I get to stay active and burn some calories and get my blood flowing.

I've noticed a lot of police, but only on roadways, not so much in places that people aren't at.

I've stopped keeping track of infections and the day to day on the virus, I kind of already know where we are.

I'm hoping to take advantage of the lack of people and get out and see some new places.

We may be stuck with this virus for awhile, especially if they lift quarantine too early or people jump back into society like everything is normal, but it seems to be a good time for this.

I was Exploring recently and saw all these masks, I thought it was pretty ironic considering the timing.

Oh, look. There's that rambling fucktard on TV again, the king of ventilators and self-delusion, testing at a level the world's never seen before, pretending everything's tremendously alright. How you people put up with having a mental defect in charge at this time of crisis is way beyond me. May God help Canada if our shared border reopens while this moron is still sucking air past his teeth.

I'm finding it hard to believe this clusterfuck took place almost in my backyard. Can hardly blame the minimum wage workers for bailing given the circumstances, but the owners and management ought to be put to death for not ringing the alarm bells. Fuck you, scumbags.

New infections in Korea nearly tripled from yesterday. Yesterday we had 7, and today there are 13.

You're seeing "more" Police only because they aren't tied up helping all the junkies down on Skid Row and/or responding to petty calls. You're probably seeing more CHP too, just like I am because there isn't anyone out on the roads. What we're seeing is the normal amount of police enforcement its just that they don't have as high of call volumes due to law-abiding citizens actually staying home. AKA. more down time to sit in one place.

Oh yeah, it took from the start of quarantine, I'm sure you saw it, day one the homeless population all crawled out into the streets and took over, but from day one, to literally yesterday, for the police here to get these camps out of residential areas. They were actually building structures on the sidewalks for months lol. Except it's not funny because if they had gotten an outbreak, it would be hell to pay for all of us living near.

Yeah that's just about all there is to police these days are the drivers going wherever they're going.. and me, but you can't catch me... so.. 🤷‍♂️

The rest of the school year is cancelled.

HS students will have to distance-learn and the school district is providing computers for them to use at home.

Everyone else gets a weekly packet via email which they print out, complete, scan and send back. This week's packet said to make a video.

Meaning students younger than high school are not getting online classes?

Korea is attempting to provide distance learning for all grades. It is not going well so far. Turns out six-year-olds don't know how to use Zoom. And nine-year-olds already know how to put up a screenshot so their teachers think they're paying attention.

It seems the challenge is that not everyone has internet access or a computer.

I just can't see distance learning working for students younger than high school. I remember what it was like being nine- your average nine year old just isn't at the point in development where they can be trusted to get any studying done on their own without somebody looking over their shoulder to make them, and if the parents aren't doing that it won't get done.

I agree. I have a 9 year old. I leave him to his studies and I come back to check his progress only to find him playing Fallout 4 or watching TV.

My wife and I are still working fulltime and can't be there to run a classroom for one.

Even with things he wants to learn, he needs constant oversight. I can get him the materials he needs and get him started, but he gets bored and finds it's just easier for him to watch Mordechai and Rigby goof off on the job.
