finding the Metro series at a bookstore will be a daunting task... I tried a couple here (well, up the road- plattsburgh NY and burlington VT are college towns- couldn't find any of them.) Ironically, there is a graphic novel tie-in to the Metro Series that is set in Plattsburgh... weird.

Anyway

SO!!!!!

I found out about a game very recently

https://azagamestu...inwind-incident-77

"Grainwind Incident 77 is a realistic urban exploration VHS Found Footage horror title.

Story⚫A Urban explorer enters Grainwind's production factory, the premise has been long abandoned and shut down many years ago due to unknown circumstances. A recovered tape named Incident 77 is found near the premise showing the events that took place and unfolded before, relive the explorers experience and choose your destiny. ( 3 possible endings )

⚫Part of my Urbex "Incident" Tape series, this being the first installment.

The full Urbex "Incident" Tape series features 4 unique tapes."

A while back I talked about a map for Garry's Mod I was working on that was meant to be a realistic exploring experience. It's come quite a long way since then, and I figured I'd share some screenshots. The idea of this map is to emulate what exploring is really like - no music, wide-open buildings with no vandalism, or horror movie cliches. No random fires, power inexplicably working, or piles of debris blocking your path.

You will have to probe the exterior looking for a way in. Currently there's two easy ways, with a few other opportunities to get creative. Almost every area is based on a place I've been. It still needs a LOT of detail, and all interior lighting in these shots is artificial until the real thing is in. However, it's already a lot of fun to walk around in.

The Long Dark has a mixture of forest and urban exploration in it. Plus it's set in winter so it's much like everyday life in MN

This might be a little out-there, but I feel like Playdead's INSIDE had a lot of really cool scenes that gave me that UE feeling. It has lots of abandoned underground settings. There's one section where the player goes through a decades-old flooded laboratory / bunker in a submarine. It was incredibly cool and kinda made me want to scuba dive in an old and flooded underground structure. I saw a picture of a flooded missile bunker on this site a few months ago. the only way you could enter was through a bulkhead door on the surface, and it was completely filled with water.

Also Metro Exodus was really good.

...metro takes you through abandoned cities and countrysides with lots to explore and the stalker series take place inside the exclusion zone of Chernobyl.

I started the Metro series during the Cove Nose lockdown. I have the platinum trophy for Metro 2033 Redux, I didn't start playing Last Light or Exodus yet, thanks for reminding me about these games they are on my shelf collecting dust

Another great one is "SOMA" on PC. It's a survival horror game that takes place in a creepy underwater research facility. The atmosphere is super intense and you'll spend a lot of time exploring and trying to unravel the story.
If you're looking for something a bit more lighthearted, "We Happy Few" is a good option. It's set in a quirky alternate reality where everyone is on a happiness-inducing drug. You play as a downer who starts to question the status quo and has to navigate through the city.
And if you're just looking for something to pass the time, you can always play free games online without downloading. Such games might be as deep as the games mentioned above.

Hi this probably has been asked before but oh well and I have no idea if this is the right place to ask.

So I'm just been looking for any good games that has a focus on urbex for Xbox or pc, I know that fallout has alot of that but I'm looking for new games so let me know if there is anything that you like playing well not exploring in real life.

PC has beamng, for some reason a plethora of abandoned buildings in the official maps, and the utah map has a cave system you can drive through. Teardown has a lot of abandoned building maps on the steam workshop, grand theft auto is a decent urbex game too as it is open world, caves, tunnels, cranes, half of sandy shores etc.

beamng

^ Second this, especially if you are into cars.

I don't think anyone's said it yet but I thought Far Cry 4 always gave great exploring vibes -- one of my favorite open world games ever.

Beamng is a great one, for no reason at all too. Like they didn't have to scatter weird bando's everywhere, but they did anyways. Not complaining at all, just find it interesting.

Some other solid game series are S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Fallout and Metro

I've heard that WHat remains of Edith Finch is a good one

The dark interval mod for Half-Life 2 is a solid one, but I also jsut love the beta stuff for that game, It gives a very urbexy feel in that mod specifically though.

Horizon Zero Dawn is okay for it, in spots its a fun one to explore overgrown old
buildings and stuff.

PORTAL 2 is a great one on every level, but is very urbexy at times.

I saw someone mention bioshock. God tier suggestion

Also, I wonder why that guy in this chat got banned lol

Some time ago I posted about a map for Garry's Mod I was working on that aims to accurately capture the UE experience. While it's not quite ready for the workshop yet, you can try it out with a manual download at the link below:

https://drive.goog...iew?usp=share_link

Most of the assets are baked in, but you need to enable Half-Life 2 and CS:GO or some decals will be missing. It's a LOT more detailed than when I last posted screenshots, but I'd love to hear thoughts on it. I'd avoid using no-clip, as searching for an entry point is part of the experience, and there are at least three of them.

Also, I HIGHLY recommend using the Customizeable Flashlight mod from the workshop. It's much less harsh than the default one.

Hey there! I'll just add two games from the same developer - Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 - very different games that both have exploration of futuristic and medieval cities, respectively. It's always fun to explore new virtual worlds and discover hidden secrets.
On a different note, have you heard about Bingo the dog? How do you think, is bingo his name-o? I'd like to hear more if anyone has sung it. Thanks!

"Stray" has a bit of an exploration/abandonment thing going on.

Also, BeamNG is so neat I might actually consider purchasing a PC.
