About a month ago I went in search of an abandoned auto body factory just north of Milwaukee. The bad news was, most of it had been demolished, or at least the above ground portions had been. The good news was that the massive subterranean portion of the factory was still standing. The other bad news was that I forgot my tripod and had to freehand all my low light shots.

Anyway, here's the result. Nothing super fancy, but it's got some nice "abandoned industrial" aesthetic going on.

This is pretty cool. Not too much of that left in the MKE area. The GM plant in Janesville had some cool underground sumps and pipe chases left behind after they demo'd it in 2018, although it wasn't long before they filled them. Unfortunately up until just about that point I wasn't documenting anything, just exploring. Really wish I started snapping shots when I started this - I spent a lot of time exploring the Menomonee Valley back in the 80's and often wish I had pics - there were some monster factories down there not to mention drug fueled mentally ill homeless

I wouldn't discount Milwaukee quite yet, there's still a great deal to explore there. Sure it's lost a few great places but some very interesting new ones have recently shut down, so there's still lots to see.

New stuff is cool, but doesn't excite me nearly as much decay, peely goodness, and nature's reclamation! Either way I've lost touch with Milwaukee and have moved north. Honestly have not much interest in returning, at least not yet. I'll watch your posts in the meantime.....

The only time I tried this place, there were railroad workers right next to it, dagnabbit.
