Cold times continue. At this morning it was –17 Celcius when this forgotten railway tunnel that were used from 1927 to 1990s did get into my head. Been there just once 5 or 6 years ago, so it definitely was time to get back. Here are measurements:

Length: 110 meters
Wide: 5,2 meters
Height: 6,1 meters

But let’s start with two photos from the past that I did found from Finnish digital newspaper archive. First is from the making, second have been taken when it was ready at 1927.

And then to year 2021…

Between Cold Rocks:

Frozen Fall:

Cold World Blues:

As We Freeze:

Broken Pillar:

Another World:

Cold White Woman:

Glowing Coldness:

That Cold White Light:

Not too much, but still I did get infected. I’ve known for few years about cave – actually it is mine that were mined with burning at 1700-1840. I’ve known that it should be somewhere… and at one pretty cold (-23 Celsius) morning I did decide now it’s the time. So I did drive as near as possible and I even did get car parked (snow start’s to be problem here when parking), walk 1 kilometer over snowy fields and to the forest, up to steep, rocky hill, do some searching and… there it was!

I’ve been in few caves, but newer in this beautiful. I’ve heard that there is pond inside at summer, but now ground was frozen almost to the doorway… and what can’t be seen from those photos, it was quite steep downhill to deeper inside. So it would have been easy to get down, but I probably wouldn’t be able to get up so I did just spend 1 hour shooting what possible from the beginning of that 10 meters or so long mine.

Curtains of Ice:

Inside:

Cold, Cold World:

Crystal Clear Coldness:

Rising:

Ice Ballet:

Colorful Coldness:

And then… to the off-topic-bonus-photo, which also was taken in cold day at Torronsuo national park:

Stay warm!

Very cool photos, Was it super slippery in there? In a few photo's it looks like the grounds frozen solid! Id definitely be slipping and sliding around lol. I also find it very interesting how fish can survive in such cold water. Also may I ask how you are able to post such high quality photos on here while keeping them under 100k? I resort to posting my photos to other sites and posting links cause idk how to get them proper size for this site.

Yeah, it was partly completely frozen and slippery too. And yeah, especially fish called crucian(?) which can live in so small ponds that they might get completely frozen. They produce alcohol to keep their organs not freeze, even they are hibernating.

And what comes to my photos, I upload them to Flickr and then link them here. Only bad thing is that they have limitation to 1000 photos, which doesn't last too long, even this forum is only reason why I use Flickr. Gotta make new email address soon and get new account to Flickr. Again. xD

Thank you very much! And especially with that second location it really was too damned cold. At least my hands and feet are frozen even at summer, so those temperatures are like... pure hell for me. But hey, going to the spring slowly (didn't that much feel that today when walking to the one abandoned farm - 1,5 kilometers to there and same back in knee deep or even deeper snow! It really was amazingly hard walk... but I did it. Stay tuned for photos, there is one post coming at next weekend so weekend after them will be today's photos turn.
