	It's indeed very nice. I have a soft spot for large electric motors. This one was 1360 kW and 10 tons.

	So big, I've seen similar in person and it feels so weird standing next to such big things. Was this for a ventilation fan?

Nope, this was a 2.4 MW input / 3,000 HP output 40/100 RPM reversing DC motor; one of a pair running the rollers on a roughing stand at a steel mill's hot strip line.

The motor's nameplate is here, and my page about that mill's hot strip line is here. I'm still working on documenting this facility in general, but that particular page is largely finished.

It really was. Sadly, the whole place has been torn down now. And most of my trips to it were made during a time period after I had accidentally thrown my good camera into a river while UEing and before I scrounged up some money to get another one. So there are some key parts of the facility that I don't have any pictures of.

I'm trying to get ahold of some friends who might have some pictures of the place they are willing to share; we'll see where that goes.
