Welcome to the site.

If you're looking for locations to explore, you're on your own. We have had a small amount of discussion about your area in the past, but it looks like it's been more than five years since anyone said anything new about it. Also, I'm not sure if any of us can really speak about the unique security situation over there. I was able to find a few Israel-based urbexers, so you can probably learn more through them.

Looking at what's been posted there and here, it seems like mostly old ruins. Maybe a really safe place to start would be some basic rooftopping? Or not, if that is seen as highly suspicious or there are military installations on roofs.

Whatever the case, if you are able to find stuff to explore, we'd welcome your content here, and we can provide more guidance on general advice not specific to your region.

No clue what it's like these days, but if I was there and looking for some light UE, I'd get on highway 90 in the Jordan River Valley and Dead Sea sections. There is some scattered buildings visible from the road that are from pre-1967. Out of curiosity, I just looked at google earth and the most recent images are from 2011, so all of that could be gone by now. Who knows.

Do the Tzabarim laugh when you try to speak Hebrew?

Mixing up the Hebrew word for MILK (cholov) with the Hebrew word for DOG (kelev) in a Cafe Hillel was especially embarrassing for one of my companions.

Anyway...

What Steed and YoelT said...

Many years ago I spent some time moping around Samaria and found a fair number of very empty buildings. I mean like everything that could be hauled away, was hauled away.

In the US, it's safe to pick up random junk you find on the ground. In Israel that's not recommended since it might explode. The further you get off the beaten path, the more of an issue that becomes. Particularly in the deep south. I never encountered anything like that, but I was given a stern warning about it.

After you've been in the country a while, you'll get a better feel of where it's safe to go and where it's not.

In order to use your head, you have to go out of your mind.
