Tommy Bartlett's Water Circus was an attraction in pigeon forge TN 1978-1982 was built on a man made lake with a 4,500 seat grandstand show only lasted for 4 years the man made lake is gone but the grandstand is still there. So now on to my story, I was in pigeon forge with my baby cousin a few days ago and decided to check out the place as it seemed easy enough to access, however I did not account for the fact it was on the property and owned by a church, No problem I thought its just a bunch of empty seats. However as I got closer to it I number 1 realized just how massive this place was and number 2 realized this was going to be harder then I initially thought. See what I didn't account for was the fact I was going there on a Sunday so when I pulled into the parking lot church was in full swing. I figured nothing of it until I reached the top of the grandstands, I was greeted by fences, no trespassing signs and cameras. I decided whatever and began to squeeze through the fence until I noticed a man in a red suit fast walking over. I decided to stop and play it cool like I wasn't trying to break in. The man came over and began explaining how the area was off limits and they had issues with vandalism and scrapping so they had to install security. The man was nice so I didn't want to come off like an ass so I just explained I was here to just take some photos and leave and that I didn't mean any harm to the structure. He told me to wait and that he would go get a person who could grant or deny me permission I wait there for around 5 minutes and out comes the "assistant pastor" who basically asked me nicely to leave and not return. I did as he asked as I didn't want him to call the police and spoil my trip and decided to not return as if he was there on another day it would be really awkward. All in all it was a pretty cool structure but I wouldn't advise going out there anymore.
