Went out a few months ago to this location - one that's been supposedly going to be redone and reopened, but apparently just... hasn't...

We got lucky - the backdoor was unlocked...

Also... had alot of very odd choices for... well many things...
Found a bat skeleton in there too!!!

1) A very good horror setting <3

2) Someone had moved the bench here - I had to

3) Vines <3

4) One of the worst things I have ever seen
Why would you put carpet in a bathroom...

5) I don't understand these doors

Looks like this was a great explore, thanks for sharing !

They've pretty much just stacked all the chairs up, taken out some stuff...
There was a room where they basically just cataloged all the things they found around in the building and then stored them in boxes/the room itself.

Hindsight
Should of taken pics / video of rolling around in the wheelchair lmfao

#3 is my favorite shot!

This would 100% make a great film location.

regarding the irregular shaped door- There are angled support beams running from the roof/attic area to the joists / beams below. To make the most use of the space they just cut the doorways in a weird way.

In a lot of custom homes in the 1960s-1980s you'll find architectural anomalies like this. Non-standard door sizes, custom milled flooring and wood siding for the walls, windows made to spec for the house. My grandmothers home was 100% hand built. Everything from the bricks to the wall paper were custom made for the house. Not because the builder was rich, but in the late 1700s-early 1800s in middle America that was the only way to get it done. Needless to say getting anything repaired or fixed or updated was a very very long process.

This is also the reason why many older homes get torn down instead of rehabbed. It's much cheaper now to pull off-the-shelf materials that are standardized sizes.

Oh thank you for the history lesson!

I'm just confused with them being rooms to be honest, not much in the way of privacy at all since you had to walk through them to get to any other... then again, not sure how things were there either - the bizarre def makes it interesting!

God about half of the bathrooms were carpeted in there... I just... low screaming when we saw them...
