This was a restaurant (and not sure what the other buildings were) right across the street of my AirBnb! Wiggled myself in after having to wait around for people to clear on a busy street.

Over in a very poor part, there was just this house crumbling and of course... Had to go over and take a peek. Luckily whoever was squatting there wasn't home.

Gotta come clean and say that it was on a tour of a very huge ranch that has alot of filming on it - but they /are/ still abandoned sets just kinda chilling out there now

Potentially at night or early morning (that side of the island is super quiet) not sure what the ramifications would be of getting caught. There are a lot of workers roaming around usually on ATVs so you'd hear them coming. We did fieldwork there back when I was a geography undergrad some REU/NSF grant project 2013/2014 maybe. Mapping stuff with drones, I was more into hiking at the time so unfortunately didn't make full use of our free rein to explore. There used to be a giant Jurassic Park footprint (my buddy had a drone photo of himself laying inside the footprint) 😂

It is a pretty awesome place would love to explore it more. Also a huge area photos don't really do it justice.

First photo is looking into the valley and second is from the pyramid shape peak (ohulehule) in the center (right side of the first photo). I have so many other photos but they're on external hard drives. We found this cool Lord of the Rings style doorway pretty far back in the valley.

It's an active ranch, complete with cows, horseback riding, and tours through the place - the owner himself does go out and about - but it is a HUGE property

You're looking at quite a hike to getting to spots
