Did a small roadtrip with a friend last weekend. A mine and some drains. We were camping in my van (temperature was specialy low even for quebec, around -26*C (-14*F) for 3 days) so we made a lot of coffee to warm up. Here's some phone pictures of our not-so-tasty but really welcomed cups.

I don't do cold well. Just looking at your icicle photo makes me cold. LOL I think I'll stay in the desert.

I'm from Australia and did most my drain exploration over there. Winter was always a massive no go because of the risk of it raining. I guess winter is less of a risk when its all frozen.

Quick question though, when you do a drain over the winter is the temperature inside much different to the temperature outside?

Sorry if its a dumb question. Its not something I've experienced before

Not dumb at all. In winter it's often less cold underground than outside ! Depends on a lot of factors like how deep is the drain, how much water there is ...ect.

Sewers are even hotter, I often have fog in my glasses because of the relatively hot sewage haha.

It rarely rain here in winter. The main problems winter brings are : frozen man-hole, fog in the glasses and sometimes the ice become so thick it can support our weight, It's ok till the ice break. If there's alot of water under, it can get sketchy.

Sorry for my approximate english.

Coffee breaks were in drains and abandoned mine. No sewage was seen there (we still smelled some H2S in the drain, maybe some gas got trapped under the ice after a overflow?).

I usually brew the Turkish way when I take it with me. But it also depends on what kind of coffee to take. Sometimes I like it much better to just take a coffee pod and use it. That way you can make coffee in literally any environment, quickly and with quality. I recommend here look Coffee capsules granomilano , it was perfect for me and in addition, these capsules are actually very diverse, so pick up the right one is definitely worth it. Good luck, I hope it was useful to everyone.

I personally prefer to eat coffee beans whole or ground, but have never really enjoyed the drink too much.

Do you eat your coffee black, or do you mix it into a paste with a bit of milk and sugar?

I prefer to eat it without additional ingredients such as milk, sugar, or water.
