So this was one of my strangest explorations of all time, as it was done with permission, and the location was only partly abandoned.
Because of my work I was involved with a project which aimed at demolishing a former school for children with special needs built in the 1960's and replace it with apartments. The school had been closed some years ago and the premises had been rented out to a group of small businesses while detail planning was done on the new houses. Then a massive water leak flooded the basement. The property became unusable and was abandoned.
Almost. The school gym was still in use by a local boxing club, who were still training there when I roamed the old corridors and classrooms with my camera.
Mostly there was not much to see:
But there were some strange details every here and there. Like what was this giant Nokia sign doing in a former school?
And how many schools have a pool?
Isn't that enough coffee already? I mean it's probably been years.
The school canteen:
And a bunch of newspapers of a local right wing party.
The water damage can be clearly seen in the basement:
And finally a room with pupil drawings and election commercials.
