This nice old building was a former vocational school dormitory. Built in the 1950's to Oulu, Finland, it was used to house students coming from all around the region in its small shared apartments. An annex was added in the 1970's, but the whole complex was abandoned in 2008 because of air quality problems.



The main lobby was pretty much smashed.



All apartments on the old side were pretty much the same: a kitchen/common room and three rooms for inhabitants.

There was a library in the attic. Most of the books had been thrown around.



The newer annex was very different. Each floor had a common room, a very small kitchen and several dorm rooms on both sides of a long corridor. Here's a standard room.



This building probably had the strangest atmosphere I have ever witnessed. It was snowing a lot, and snow was melting. Everywhere you went, the only sounds you heard was water dripping and the small beeping sound of fire alarms trying to warn you that they're about to run out of battery.



A strange discovery in the basement, as there was no bowling alley in the building.



The higher up you went, the more damage the weather had done.



The last photo I took in the building and one of my most eerie finds. I took the photos in 2015 and when going through them last year, I realized something strange. The news from 1982 in the picture is about a fire in a restaurant in Helsinki. That building would be my future home four years later.
