After passing through running crowds and flash-bang grenades detonating due to a taxi-driver riot against Uber drivers, we arrived here in July of 2022. I hope you enjoy this mix of scenic and macro shots. I tried to mix in the close-ups, like a horse skull unearthed from the middle of the arena. There are also some lesser-known visuals in this gallery, including a carving that shows the Ark of the Covenant in transport, and a very rarely seen engraving found far above the walkways on the back of a ceiling arch. It is one of the only references to the crucifixion of Christ to be found in the Colosseum. Comments readily received and appreciated!

11 is of the gods!!!

Kabbalah is an undramatic tradition that requires great patience and stability. One of the reasons for this tempo is that everyone has to mature his potential gradually and thoroughly at his natural pace. In this way his life's work unfolds at the right moment in his own and the cosmos's time.

Looks like a cool site! Plenty of natural decay, but no real vandalism in sight. Careful posting pics, you really wouldn't want this location getting out.

Seriously though, awesome shots from a great opportunity. I love the variety of perspectives, I've never seen it this way before.

Do you mean that's who is in the carving, or the photography is so good, it's of the gods!?! (tongue in cheek)

Thanks! I thought it was really cool how all the crows had a more 'ghostly' look than in North America due to the gray patches. Sure enough, I searched online for them when I got home and discovered they're called Hooded Crows. I smacked my forehead with a 'duhhh' chuckle when I read the name.

I found it equally interesting though that barn swallows were the same as here. They're so successful all around the world! I am sure it had something to do with nesting on ocean vessels throughout history and being inadvertently brought to other countries.

This guy was in an abandoned house location near Rome....

^^ Ghost Crow would of been my choice to name them They do look like they are wearing a hoodie though lol

^^ I tend to agree with their success worldwide had to have been something like what you've described. Amazing how they have adapted to all different types of weather too.

^^ you must have an amazing camera to capture so vividly up close....love it !!
