If you didn't know what you were looking for, this would be just an ordinary dirt road by a railroad leading to a dead end in a forest. But luckily I did.



This is all that there is left of the former station of Soso. And it was quite difficult to find even that.

The rest was invisible behind vegetation, which has been allowed to grow for decades.



In 1953 four people including the station manager were bludgeoned to death here using a hammer. The crime was quickly solved and the perpetrator spent the rest of his life in prison.

That article is brutal wow. Kind of crazy how no one would ever be able to tell now without knowing the story.

This is one side of urbexing I kind of like a lot: really doing the digging and finding history stuff about the places I visit. When and why they have been abandoned and has anything strange happened there.

I actually have a photo set about another murder scene, but haven't yet had time to go them through. It's a case where drunken people started fighting and the owner of the place actually buried his injured friend alive to the yard. I'll be sure to post the story here later.

Yeah I'll definitely check it out when you do that sounds crazy.

Same here! Finding places with an interesting history, whether good or ill, is one of my favorite parts of urbex. Even a not-that-interesting spot from a purely photography standpoint can be elevated to an awesome one by a wild history.
