Had a crawling height tunnel collapse and bury an explorer alive while trying to dig our way into a previously undiscovered tunnel section in MSP two nights ago. Dude was 90% buried in the sand (including a good portion of his face) and we had to claw our way through the sand with our bare hands to get him out because there wasn't enough room to use a shovel. We got him out before he suffocated, but it was terrifyingly close. Easily one of the most horrifying experiences I've ever had exploring.

"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there.

Last summer a friend and I went to an abandoned DC-3 in the Yukon Backcountry. It was the most intense/hard explore I ever did. 80km in the bush. When we came back, I was charged by grizzly. Someday I'll make a full trip report about this. Anyway, that was the scariest moment of my entire life.

A grizzly? Could you share at least how you survived?

I stood my ground, yelled as loud as I could while waving my arms.

From what I heard, grizzlys often do what some call ''bluff charges'' they'll charge you and turn back at the last minute. It's a way to test if your a prey. If I had run it would have been a prey behavior.
After that I had no voice for 2 days haha.

Christ that's terrifying. I spent about a year exploring in Montana and I carried bear spray for the same reason after a solo hiker was eaten by a grizzly not far from a ghost town I wanted to check out. Encountering a grizzly would be a nightmare scenario.

Was climbing up to a window for an abandoned theater/bank, and the owner, who recently began living in and renovating the space, decided it would be a fun idea to wait by the window and grab me by collar, dangle me over the 8 foot ledge over a construction dumpster, headbutt me three times, and scream at me for over a minute about how I had apparently been there every night that week stealing shit. He had raised his fist to punch me in the face til he saw my friend standing on the street recording him
I ended up with a concussion and no desire to return to that spot.

It's not overly interesting or crazy but I fell through a floor once. It was only a story and I should've known not to walk on rotten plywood, but I did and ended up with a few scratches.
