| | | Since no one really hangs around here much anymore, I am probably just posting to hear myself post, but so be it... On May 3, I will take delivery of a 2024 Chevrolet Trax RS in Nitro Yellow Metallica. The Sonic had 18 payments left, but had 84,000 miles on the odometer and I was heading for the dreaded 1.4L blues... coolant diverter, thermostat housing, turbo and turbo oil cooler line failures were on the horizon. I went through all that shit with my '12 Cruze. The car was still fun to drive, ran well and still felt solid, but i am just ambivalent about the whole thing, so I saw the Trax while getting the oil changed and said fuck it. Why not? it's an automatic which is blah, but trying to get a manual shift car was turning into an ordeal. Nuts and bolts- it's a 1.2L 3-cylinder, direct-injection turbo hooked to a tried n true actual 6speed automatic. None of this CVT kife. 137hp and some ridiculous torque figure. Somewhere, the ghost of the Geo Metro is laughing its ass off. But, hey if Toyota can get over 240hp out of a huffy-puffy turbo 3, why not GM? Yeah, I know... Anyways... this is pretty much what it looks like.

| | | Posted by gambino I am sorry for your loss brother, Your ride looks good though, I know the wait times are crazy for Toyota vehicles. The used prices are crazy also.
| thanks, G. He died in his sleep. We think from a heart attack. It was a good thing, as fucked as that is to say, but the cancer shit show was about to really kick off. He was 72, would've been 73 in october. as for the car, Toyota dealers were very hard to deal with and the three that I called were just, well, assholes over the phone, especially when I mentioned that I wanted a manual shift Corolla. They were adamant THAT I WOULD LOVE THE CVT! (eyeroll) Yeah, they were that pushy over the phone. the Chevy experience was easy, my salesman a friend and from a dealer that I practically live at as is. Anyways, this is way more info than was needed, wanted or give a shitsky about. Sorry.
