So, I am no photographer, but interested in photography nonetheless. I need to get something that could pass as an actual camera, with interchangeable lenses and require some for of case to travel with.

But as of right now I have the third generation of exploring cameras, the first two were nikon coolpix cameras that either almost blew up or fell from a catwalk multiple stories high.

Anyways, these are some pictures I've gotten over the past few months.

Lol, Also took some 35mm photos, but am waiting to recieve the developed film. Will post once they're done.

Edit: Hope the images arent too big, sometimes I forget other people don't always have high res screens.

The most important component in photography is the photographer. You obviously have an eye for composition and the photos turned out great. Don't pause your photography waiting for that new camera. Keep shooting until you buy the new camera.

As Abby said it's more about the composition than the gear you're working with. These are some nice pictures. I especially like the colors and peeeeeels in 8. If this is that one place we were talking about the other day I'm glad you weren't mugged XD.

Nothing wrong with a Sony Cyber-shot.

Which one are you shooting with? There are probably 100 different ones.

I shoot with four Cyber-shots currently but have had more than a dozen. Three of the four are more than 18 years old.

Sony F717 (2002)
Sony F828 (2003)
Sony P200 (2005)
Sony RX100 III (2014)

I also have like 20 SLRs but I really like the stuff you can get with point-and-shoot and bridge cameras. The RX100 replaced my dSLRs at one point and I even used it as my work camera for over a year. It also makes a great exploring camera.

I am curious which you have because many of them have solid manual settings so you can set at a low ISO, the right aperture, etc. If you learn the camera, regardless of what it is, you can take good photos with it.

Keep shooting and keep posting here!

alsoooooo just a helpful tip- when you're using the BBcode from flickr, post it at smaller size, it will greatly help viewing them here.

Like this - Medium (800 x 600)

I'm using a Sony DSC-W730 I bought off of a friend after my Nikon Coolpix A10 went "snap crackle pop" and decided to die on me after getting cave sand in its electronic guts. It's a dandy little camera really, and definitely worth the $20 I spent. I love the thing. Not to mention that online this doinky little camera sells for like a median of $130 or something

The cybershot is dead. Lost in a sea of rebar to never be seen again.

It's okay, Now I've got a Nikon Coolpix L120!

Which is such a solid little point and shoot for automatic shooting. (Unfortunately doesn't have an option for manual)

I know you already have your hands at a few cameras but small form factor APC-C fixed lens cameras are great for this type of stuff. Basically the same size as the Cybershot and don't constrict your range of motion like a bigger Full-Frame or Medium Format lens cameras.

If you have the budget see if you could get your hands on the Sony RX100 series, Fuji X100 series, etc. They produce image quality that rivals (sometimes better) than the Full-Frame for this type of stuff especially since you really don't need more than 35mm.

Ooh! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll be doing my research on these. (Still getting a good grounding in photography)

Appreciate it though!

I used to have a Sony Cybershot. Great little camera until it finally expired of old age.

I know I’m kinda late to the party on this one but…

I sold an old cybershot a couple months back, and wow, that thing shot really good photos for being as old as it was. Barely got time to use it as I had just (kinda) inherited it. But the buyer seemed to be super happy to use it.

Very cool, I really like shots #7 and #8. For someone who claims not to be a photographer your shots are suspiciously good.

I would say I am now! These were some of my first real attempts at composition months ago, and after getting a nice camera (the cybershot was good until I lost it in a cave full of rebar) I started taking it more seriously. Thanks nonetheless Aran!

cybershots are awesome little guys! They go for a SHIT ton of shmoolecks though, But very solid for their age and what they are. How much did you sell it to the buyer for??
