For the first time in 9 years (the first time ever, in fact), I have finally replaced the filters on my p100 respirator. I just wanted to make a thread to commemorate the start of this new post-replacement era.

Congratulations! Aren't you supposed to replace 3-6 months? Did you store it in a plastic bag to lengthen its life? Send us the picture of the old filters I wanna see how dirty they are

I am pretty sure that particulate filtration works until it becomes difficult to breathe, but other filtration is what needs replacing.

Yes, you are, and no, I stored them in my dusty exploring bag for nearly a decade.

Still really need to do a smoke test to be sure

I'm sure the recently "filtered" air was absolutely delicious to breathe in

I decided to pick up a P100 mask for myself yesterday. I probably should have before walking through literal inches of dried pigeon goop on my last explore, but better now than never.

I don't know a whole lot about respirators but I want to stay safe, are P100s the best or are there better ones out there?
