How should I deal with other people/squatters?

I am new to this website, and I have yet to go to any abandoned places, but I'm wondering how I should deal with squatters or other people. I plan on always being with a few friends, so safety wise we should be fine, but if we encounter people should we just leave? Or should we keep exploring? What's the best way to go if I get into a situation like this? Also, are there any signs I can look out for to maybe avoid places that already have people. And one more thing, how do I delete a post?

Squatters are people too and you're intruding on their home. Apologize, offer to leave, maybe offer them a cigarette and strike up a conversation. Or just leave as soon as you suspect they're there, or at least avoid them if it's a big building. Just play it by ear and remember that they're desperate people on hard times, not hazardous wildlife.

Yeah that makes sense, thanks for the advice. Also, am I able to delete a post? I made another post but I made an error and it won't let me modify it, so I am just trying to delete it.

If murder is off the table than I suppose Aran's advice is solid.

I tend to keep a protein bar or some sort of snack on me just for this. 9 times out of 10 they will be calm with you, especially if you give them a snack. If they are immediately hostile or you get a bad vibe or simply they see you I would exit. Generally, the more security measures the lower the chances of squatters.
