Well, I think we already do. The details may be a little hazy, but I am willing bet my hanky that a crazy guy named Oswald shot him from the window of a book depository in Dallas. The fine details are moot, but the main gist is more than likely correct.

(hey, I think my other post came off cranky, sorry about that ole fedge-er-oo)

Just an off shoot here.

Maybe he never died, and the whole thing was faked. Did an Elvis and faked his own death.

Nobody will ever know the truth.

A bit of research and you'll find John Booth vs. Abe Lincoln in the same boat.

Having read more than enough books on this topic, including the massive Warren Commission Report, all I can say is that the official line makes the most sense. What is easier, that a single guy was wacko and shot the president, or that there was some sort of conspiracy involving tons of people that has remained secret for more than 30 years?

The simplest theory is usually the most correct.

They call that Oscam's Razor, if I'm not mistaken.

But there is a little problem with the official report. I have never gotten a good answer from anyone as to what Lee Harvey Oswald was doing in this country at all. I mean think on this, US Marine LHO defects to the USSR, gets bored and comes home from Russia with his Russian wife. I'm wondering why they let him out, and more importantly why did we let him back in? Did I miss the reasonable explanation for this?

NO thats never been explained to my satisfaction either. Why was he in Mexico visiting the US embassy? The whole Russian defection scam seems fabricated to me.

I can tell you this, Mexico has been a long standing "jumping off" point for foreign jobs such as security and mercenaries. And most of the time an easy way back in.

A friend of mine did a research paper on this whole thing. An interesting point he shed light on was that some of the movers and shakers on the warren commission were CIA. The same people JFK talked to when he was considering dismantling the CIA after the cuban missile crisis.

When Oswald was in the army, he was reported to have a poor shot, with bad aim, and could not reload quickly. So to think he could actually pull of this kind of hit is insane to think.

Ok, here's my take on this.

I used to think, no way this guy (Oswald) could be loony, then I watched "A Beautiful Mind", a film about a brilliant man with dementia who imagined friends, jobs, trips, conversations, that were 100% made up. However, for the "long gunman" theory to work, there must be no evidence of anyone else, or even a plausible suggestion of anyone else. I just don't see that here. Too many other things have happened for it to have been one crazy whackjob ex-Marine with a rifle.

Now, if you look at Oswald's military record, he was not "the best" marksman. However, you'd only want to recruit the best marksman if you wanted them for a one-man job. He was chosen to be a sacrificial Judas, in my opinion. Maybe he fired a shot that hit JFK, or maybe not. But it's absurd that someone who could confidently approach Oswald would be satisfied in his less than stellar shooting to take on a job like this.

My guess, there were alot more than a 2nd gunman. If the operation was as coordinated as it would have needed to be in order to secure the details even to this present day, they would need not only multiple shooters, but also multiple support personnel ready to assist the shooters in cleaning up their positions, leaving the area without being detected, etc..

The CIA are trained to get into and out of places undetected, they also have had training in assassination techniques. And, like it or not, JFK was talking about cutting them into bits over that Cuban fiasco. Look at it this way, either Oswald was a whackjob acting alone, or he was a conspirator/hired hand in an international effort to kill the President. So, if someone did smell a conspiracy, it could be good PR on behalf of the CIA, who would be more than willing to look into it for the good sake of the USA.

I believe fully that the CIA had a very active part in this, but I'm not convinced if they were the top of the pyramid or not. All I know, someone had to do all that tampering and misplacing of things after Oswald was in custody.

bad intel from somewhere

wasnt Oswald in the Marines

I recall he passed basic marksmanship

and Marines of that era wouldve trained with automatic rifles so its pretty unlikely that any credible source would say "he could not reload quickly" if youre implying repeated shots with the bolt action are the same as reloading...

Discovery did a thing on it and proved, through really firings with an identical rifle, that it could has been done with one bullet and one gun and one gunman. They basically set up everything to the same distances, angles ,and all that jazz, and fired off a bullet that exactly matched the "magic bullet".

What fascinates me is how the average American considers JFK and Oswald to be a permenant conspiracy theory/coverup in their minds, but nobody ever stop to think about the RFK/SirhanSirhan assassination which was *way* more unbelievable.

Ohhhh - THAT JFK.
Well thank god there have been so many more Kennedies getting into politics to make up for the loss.
Ted Kennedy is truly a shining star and a seminal role model for lawmakers everywhere.

Just briefly revisiting this stuff for a moment...
Sometime in the next 5 to 10 years, certain documents will be declassified regarding the assassination of JFK, the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Bay of Pigs, among other things. JFK died in 1963. There are documents that are being held in classified and sealed status regarding his administration until November of 2013, 50 years after his death as the law reads for classified information regarding a president's administration.

What I'm really waiting for is January of 2023, when everything LBJ put into classified status becomes available to the public.

Although, I really would like to live long enough until 2044, when everything on Nixon comes out, finally.

Because there are theories that suggest that Nixon, LBJ and Hoover all had something to do with both the assassinations of RFK and JFK.

That's what I said when I first heard about it back in 1985, when they changed the law. It used to be 25 years after the date of death. For some documents, it still is. Documents on Operation Northwoods were under that status and came out a few years later, if I remember right. The whole thing that was suggested to Kennedy about faking a plane full of college kids being shot down over Cuba to give us reason to start a shooting war with them.

They changed it because of Kennedy. They wanted to make sure that everyone, or nearly everyone involved was dead, according to rumor.
