Entry: Shrinker (Drain)

A Shrinker is an RCP drain that has little or no features and simply shrinks.

The term was originally used by Woody of the Cave Clan in Melbourne, Australia in 1986 whilst exploring a promising looking drain with an 11ft entrance. After about a mile the RCP split was joined by a tributary tunnel with both shrinking to 8ft. Another mile and the pipe was joined by another side-pipe and shrunk again.

This continued until the pipe was less than 2ft high.

The only features were the junction-rooms where the tunnels adjoined.

"This tunnel's nothing but a shrinker" said Woody.
