A Series of Unfortunate Mice

A few weeks ago Matt and I went to a new store to buy crickets for his lizards because PetSmart was closed. In addition to crickets, they had little pinky mice, so we got 2 of those for his biggest lizards.
Well, they wouldn't eat the mice. Not really sure why, but they just weren't havin' it. Matt was getting pretty upset, the poor little bastards were squeaking and running around, being generally terrified.
So long story short, for two weeks I fed these baby mice KMR (kitten milk replacement formula) every two hours. sleepless nights, long days.
Then they both died. God, I was so heartbroken... and it was so FRUSTRATING! I just wanted to feed them to the damn lizards and be done with it! But I guess I got soft-hearted and kinda, well, fell in love with the stupid little things.
So a few days later, still depressed over these stupid mice (which, by the way, I named, which made it harder - stupid, I know. but I cant help it) Matt and his mother stopped by work with two adult mice. I was so happy, and I fell in love with them right away, because I wasn't worried about any untimely deaths.
I went out and got them all this cool rodent stuff, and I watched them play with it every waking second of the day.
Then today one of them choked on a piece of food and died.

Urg I really, really suck at this.
I'm a mice murderer ahhhhhhhhh

I had mice before... I had a little white one named gimpy. His mom ate one of his hind feet when he was born, I think she got carried away scarfing down the placenta. Anyways, gimpy was my favourite little red eyed, white, crippled mouse. Even though he only had three feet he had a lot of spirit. He was quite hand tame and he lived on top of my dresser, he was free to roam, as he was too smart to try and jump off and even pooed in a little cardboard box.(with the occasional accident) He had a plastic hampster house where he'd sleep. Whenever i'd enter the room he'd hobble out of his house for a visit. One day I came home from work to find gimpy on a chair about 2 feet from the dresser. He some how managed to jump all the way to the chair only to die upon impact? or maybe he fell off the dresser and climbed his way up the chair in pain until finally succumbing to his injuries? whatever happened to gimpy is a mystery. Anyways I loved that little bugger. So I feel your pain, and am sorry for the loss of your mouse.

First of all, rats and mice are two totally different ball games - and Keti, i suggest trying rats instead - they are smarter, cleaner, more fun and live longer.

i have raised nearly every kid of rodent, and my pet rats are by far my favorite, as mice just pass away too fast. try and avoid feeder species as well, those rat and mouse strains are not bred for good health and longitivity.

Well, mousey number 2 is still alive and doing well

Yeah, that's what you think now... the kitty is just fattening him up so that when he does get to feast, he REALLY gets to FEAST!

From the kitty's expression, I can see the thought bubble, "When that f***ing camera is aimed the other way and they are not looking...

haha no they actually do get along, even when im not looking! (I assume because he's not dead)
The mouse knows how to open his cage - I don't know how he can, I haven't been able to figure out how he's getting loose - but I came home from work the other day and the mouse was sleeping on top of the cat. I tried getting a picture, but the cat ran off.

LOL! Right on! Maybe you should teach the mouse how to use a camera and get him involved in UE!
Imagine the places he could get into and the pics he would take?
