What will you do when you get older(like 65-70) Will you take your piercings out? Will you get your tats removed? Or will you leave them in/there?

That's why i really like piercings. They can be taken out and heal up any time. I've never had any piercing for more than a couple years, but I always seem to have at least one at any given time.

Tats are obviously permanent and I don't think anybody would get one with the specific intention of having it removed in the future. That's why you (should) put so much effort into deciding on them.

My tongue and lip peircings will probably retire after college. Old people with pericings look weird sometimes, and I am in a pretty clean cut line of work so they just won't fly any more...

I don't know really, I never thought of it. I think I will just take out my piercings when I get sick of them, that's what I usually do...

I've taken out my genital pierces owing to my wife's discomfort.
I took out my tongue pierces because my gums were eroding.
I'm down to just ear pierces that still have jewelry in them.
Both tragus pierces have 2 guage grommets in them. The 'forward helix' used to be 2 guage, but I now have a funky ring that used to be in my wife's septum...it's niobium and steel twisted together...about 8 guage...and it did not close up much. I can still get 4 guage through easily. both tongue holes are still open...finally 000 and 0000 guage but have shrunk considerably. both frenums were 2 guage, one is still open, one is healed closed. and I still pee like a sprinkler through the apadravya(was 4 guage)...top hole(upper PA) tiny drip hole...I know it's open, but I don't have jewelry small enough to get through...bottom hole(regular PA) I can still get my smaller jewelry through.
oh, long ago I had a rook. I stretched it to 6 guage and it started growing out so I took it out. it's closed. I miss it.

edit: I'm 34.

I dunno. My tats are special to me because they mean something, so I don't regret that. Its also why I hate flash tats. As for my piercings I definitely had more and have cut down not due to me getting older but its me not wanting to be associated with some of the image that piercings have now been associated with. Now that its more mainstream to get pierced everywhere a large amount of people who do it get them because they want to fit in to some group image, whether its sorority girls and belly and tongue piercings to redneck wanna-be punks who get septum and lip piercings. That's not who I am and the piercings I had started to reflect those people because a lot of them started getting those kind, mainly redneck harcore kids. So that's why I don't have as much. I think piercings can still have some value, but it meant a lot more when it was an exclusive practive.

I will probably take out all the piercing other then maybe two on each ear. but the tattoos well i think removing them is stupid because it goes from wrinkled ink on your skin to a wrinkled scar so really no difference. Also you put it on your body for a reason. May it be a drunken night of fun or a deep meaning you put it there to remind you of one thing forever which i think no matter what it looks like you should keep it to remind you why you got it in the first place. I think that the more piercings the better while young you can at lease take them out one day. tattoos give good thought towards it.
