If you know of any good interactive city map links, post them here.

I know most large cities usually have an interactive map program on their webpage, but I have noticed that they vary in quality. Some of them only let you see the major streets, while some let you see the storm and sewage mains. I just want to start this thread so we can see the wide variety of of Interactive maps available on the net.

Anyways, post away.

My contributions to this thread:

City of Hamilton, Ontario:
http://map.hamilton.ca/interactivemaps.asp#

For this one to work, you need to install the ActiveX Control.

From the few interactive city maps that I have seen, I have to say that this is the best one that I have seen so far. It lets you view the city in 2 modes -atlas mode, or as an aerial photo from ether 1999, or from 2002. Some of the features are that it lets you search for a property by just typing in a street address, and it will automatically zoom the map to the property. It also allows you to take Links from the map, allowing you to send a link of an interesting view to your friends.
eg. http://map.hamilton.ca/InteractiveMaps1280/default.asp?Profile=General&Topic=Aerial Viewer 2002&xmin=590748.126596281&ymin=4790342.7480826&xmax=591008.410546897&ymax=4790532.04437889 -you will need the ActiveX control before you can use this link.

One really good feature of this program is that it lets you see the sewage and storm drains, and it will give the dimensions of it!

atlas mode, note the storm drain info -the green lines are the storm and sewage drains!

Here's an interesting page with some python GIS applications.
http://pygps.org/

They can use maps pulled down from TerraServer so can quickly be adapted for anyplace in the continental United States.

enjoy.

2005 aerial photos are just coming online now...
