Trapped!
entry by Gatsby

If my theory is correct (which I'll explain in a minute), I propose naming the drain from which Frozen swam out from - Death Trap Drain.
In a previous journal posting of mine, I shared how Ofberenonehand and I discovered a connection to a large drain near my home in Loring Park. I'm confident that it's Frozen's drain, but we have yet to confirm this theory.
Last Saturday, my apartment became the headquarters for the first mission into this drain (from this entrance, anyway). Ofberenonehand returned with his long-time friend Tom, Tom's cousin Chris, and Tom's friend Kristin. BlackHole also hooked up with our troop. After a round of Red Bulls, we walked over to the manhole, where none of us could have dreamed of what would unfold in the next 90 minutes.
Onehand popped the lid with one hand (ha!) and I jumped down first - if you read the earlier posting, you might remember that there is a small crawl-pipe that leads to the dropshaft. At the bottom of the ladder in the shaft, we planned on tying up a knotted rope to enable us to reach the floor (about 10 feet from the lowest rung, in the middle of the ceiling).
I crawled over to the shaft and climbed down the rungs so that the next person would have room to join me, which turned out to be Chris. Kristin waited at the edge of the crawl-pipe.
This was the situation for a few minutes. I asked aloud, "What's going on?" Through an assembly line for spoken messages, I eventually received the answer - they were unable to close the manhole cover. It was a tough one with a tough angle to work at, so we resorted to unearthing the lid at the top of the main shaft. We climbed out and located a section of grass that looked like there might be a lid underneath. There was, and Onehand got out his popper and pulled it off. I climbed down with the rope and tied it up. I planned on swinging to the floor, but found it harder than I thought it would be. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get back up. Onehand went down and got to the floor, then climbed back up after resting for a bit, proving to us that it was possible.
About this time, we were getting a little anxious to get down there and close the lid. It had been open for a long time, and passersby were beginning to make us nervous. Tom decided to join Onehand for the first official descent. They went down while the rest of us walked around, trying to not look suspicious. Tom lost strength as he struggled to get to the floor. When he got down, he realized there was no way he could get back up! We were all starting to panic by this time, as the lid had been off for a good 20 minutes! I wanted to just leave and go home. I think everyone else did, too, but now we had someone stuck down there!
We took turns leaning up against a nearby tree to exchange messages to and from the two below. There were several people watching us by this time, and it was simply impossible to hide what we were doing. Onehand had been trying to help Tom from the bottom, but couldn't get him out. We found out later that Tom had fell into the filthy water many times as he came close to the first rung. He was soaked and even swallowed some of it at 2 different times! Onehand came up and discussed other possibilities with me.
Meanwhile, Blackhole and the others looked down other holes in the area, trying to find alternative exits.
While Onehand hid himself behind me and the tree, tying a loop in a second rope, a car pulled up about 20 feet from us. I didn't want to look, for fear of creating further suspicion, so I started sweating just thinking about the possibility of an arrest. Onehand peeked through and noted that it was just a guy, but he was staring at us. He walked around us like he was a secret officer or something. We had no choice, though! We had to get our friend out! We ignored the guy and tossed the rope down to Tom, who put his foot in the loop. He was able to make it up to the rungs through this method. He climbed out and we kicked the cover back on.
People were everywhere! They all knew what we were doing, and it stressed me out completely - I couldn't even go home, they would know where I lived!
This is how I was thinking by this time, I was so freaked out!

Hours later, long after everyone had left, I got a call from BlackHole. He said, "Are you still awake?" I was confused. He said that he and Onehand were on my front steps and asked me to come up. I was still freaked out from our recent experience, so I questioned what was happening. Before I opened the door, I called him back to analyze his tone of voice. I thought maybe someone had abducted them and was using them to get me, too. (yes, I was freaked)
I found them relaxing on my porch without any signs of foul play. They told me that they had discovered something about my neighborhood which helped explain why the place was CRAWLING with people at 4am.

GAY PROSTITUTION!!

It was fun sitting on my steps watching the exchanges take place. We figured out the system and witnessed several drop-offs as well. Sometimes two would exit an automobile - shameless threesomes! Some of them were losers who couldn't get anybody. They would drive around the block for an hour and then give up. We assumed that they went home to kill themselves or something.
We also realized that the guy who parked next to us while we were standing next to the tree earlier had something else in mind. He probably assumed we were getting it on and wanted to join in.
We totally rejected that guy!!

Anyone interested in watching the action from my porch can purchase tickets through PM! ONLY $25!!
