I've had this problem for a while, and it's getting really annoying. I tried to find the answer on google, but no such luck (I wasn't really sure what I should even search for). So I come here for some tips. My problem is that a bunch of my folders are converting themselves to "read-only." I go into the folder properties and uncheck the read-only box (it's usually grey for some reason, if that helps), then I hit apply, it gives me the pop-up asking if I want it to apply just to the folder or the folder and its contents (it doesn't matter which choice I select). Then hit OK, and open up the folder properties and it's back to read-only.

It's not too bad, just a pain in the ass, and I wish I could figure out how to fix it. Hopefully somebody on here knows better than I, any help would be greatly appreciated.

(I'm assuming you have XP)

I was going to tell you to check a bunch of things, then I realized the same thing occurs on my comp too. I haven't used attributes for years due to NTFS permissions. Doesn't seem to bug anything, the folders can still be written to.
