While driving around the shore of Lake Ontario, I came upon a very tall cliff overlooking the lake and, if you squint, you can see New York state. The house sits near the cliff, towering confidently despite its age. The prime residents of this house are a cat loving eldery couple. But the real residents are the cats, who numbered in the high double digits. I did not see the same cat twice during my visit. They were all very friendly and came out to greet me as I walked by...

Thank you, -=HR=-Rage!

I'm not sure who all can access this forum but for any reading this I just want you to know I have nothing but the utmost respect for all members here except Jester, who has spent great time and effort being a needledick for no apparent reason other than to provoke in a typical troll manner. I'm sorry if the Ontario forum has been tainted by this ugly spectacle...

If there is a site to be created for Ian and my galleries, you'll be the first to hear about it. Thanks again for all your support!

As for that particular kitty, it was a very friendly cat. It walked right up to me and meowed at me in a greetingly manner. Those pics represent just a fraction of the cats too. But they all appeared to be well fed and healthy. The one calico-looking one appeared to be missing a left ear but was in great spirits and incredibly friendly. All the cats followed me around the area as I checked out the view from the bluffs...

No problem, Don't stress the small stuff..what i've learnt over the years is that not everyone appreciates what you do but the ones that do are the ones that matter the most! I enjoy and i'm sure others enjoy your guys experiences too as i stated in the above post... so keep up the good work and i hope to hear and see lots more of your guys explorations!

Yeah those cats look well fed and taking care of..i thought in durham your only allowed 4 pets excluding fish and birds i could be wrong. Wheres that waterfront courtice? I like this picture i think i might make it my wallpaper:

I think I'm going back to get a larger rez photo of that shoreline pic, suitable for nice 1152x864 desktops, etc. It's actually just west of Bennett Road, the next 401 offramp after Bowmanville but before Highway 35/115. Beautiful area...

Thanks again for your kind words. Knowing people like you are on UER makes what I do all the more worthwhile. I love doing it and if other like the results, then I'm a happy camper.

It's a little bit East of the Nuke plant. It's very quiet and calming there - plus you have all the friendly cats to keep you company on your visit. 6AM could be an interesting view from the bluffs - pretty spectacular.

Are you doing paving work on the 401? I hear there is a massive 401 repair job going on. Other paving crews I've seen in the area are up by Taunton, Conlin area in Courtice. If that's you, great paving work!!

Yeah i'm on the Black Creek Dr/401 off-ramp.. were grinding down the cement and laying down Superpave Asphalt (SP19mm), i don't actually lay or help lay the asphalt i just sit around and take samples and make sure the asphalt is being put down and compacted to MTO standards, i also work in the lab making SP batches and testing samples from the field which i core drill out of the finished asphalt. Its a pretty interesting job but damn its just a bunch of sitting around and taking shots with the nuclear density guage and core drilling samples where it meets MTO standards..i can't stand sitting around at work i got to be slugging and sweeting my ass off! Anyways i've been up since 10:00am yesterday so i'm going to hit the sack for quick nap before life continues on as always!

Sounds like my job at the TV station. I do a lot of "fireman waiting" but the rub is that I have to be ready to pick up the phone at any moment.

I was so excited when they started scaping the asphalt at McCowan and 401 - I thought they'd be repaving this bumpy potholed mess of a roadway. Nope, the scraped it down a few centimetres and then repainted lines on the newly exposed surface, still potholed and unsafe as ever...

Plus areas of the 401 like westbound in between Morningside and Markham Rd. - they are in such poor condition it defies the fact they are Ontario provincial class freeway...

You work at a TV station...that sounds like a alright job, do you have access to the library of old shows?Do you get to view shows before their aired..etc?
Yeah when they grind the road down like that, its because their going to be repaving it, they can only do so much work in one night so what they do is close the road anywhere between 9pm-5am and then they grind it down and re-paint so you guys know where to drive, then later on could be a day could be months later they come back, clean up a little and then resurface the road as much as they can, re-paint the lines and then they re-open the highway before 5am. I'm working at Hogg's Hollow bridge on the 401 right now resurfacing it, when trucks run over the bridge the whole bridge starts to do the wave it feels really weird..lol

Yep, though I'm not allowed to name the TV station here, it's located in the 401 and McCowan area. Getting access to the show library is almost worth taking the job in the first place. Tons of shows are archived. For new shows like CSI or ER and the current primetime faves, we get the latest episodes delivered a day in advance on satellite. It's always fun to spoil the end of CSI for my family members ("then Grissom will look in the secret compartment and find the key")...

I hope they eventually do repave McCowan. It's a bumpy ride...

Hoggs Hollow, I'm always amazed that bridge stays in place as Hoggs Hollow used to be/still is the quicksandiest swampy area in the GTA next to the Yonge area near Holland Landing.

That awesome, I bet your family just hates when you do that..i know i hate when people ruin shows for me..lol! Do you guys have any american shows in the database?Like the show Reno911 the funniest show ever..lol i laugh every time i think of that show its better then the trailer park boys! Hoggs Hollow was engineered to be able to withstand the shifting of the bridge from the quicksand, that bridge has 9 expansion joints i think. You won't believe what happened last night there..the supervisor showed up late so the guys started grinding with out him and they grinded the east side of the bridge not the west side like they were supposed to,luckily by the time the super showed up they only grinded the shoulder about a 200x8 feet strip..i think someone went home with their lunch pile..thats going to cost about $75,000 to repair cause they have to close the highway which cost thousands they have to pay workers, they have to pay for all the asphalt, they have to pay for a team of engineers, and they have to pay for all the trucks and fuel and probally*sp* a big fine too from the MTO....lol I thought the supers veins were going to pop out of his head..lol i'm going to go to bed now..forgive my english i can't concentrate right now!
