| Friday, I met up with Asylunt and GreyKat to return to the location referred to in my "Finally!" journal posting.
The evening began with having a couple of beers while sitting around my backyard firepit (we never actually started a fire, but there's just something about a firepit that jumpstarts conversation).
We headed out around 10pm and arrived to find that the place was crawling with people! We walked around for awhile, trying to figure out if we'd even be able to get in at all.
Asylunt made a descent suggestion, but it turned out to be no good.
Plan B ended up working just fine. We were in well before midnight, so we had plenty of time to take pictures and whatnot.
It was the best of times, as usual.
A couple of cops drove up at one point, but it turned out to be nothing. Still, it was a good scare at the time! We set off a motion detector near the end of the night, even though we tried our best not to - another good scare - I love it! Close calls always make an adventure complete.
Ha! I just remembered, while we were in the basement, an unseen compressor right next to Asylunt suddenly started up very loudly and scared him into jumping 4 feet in the air! Good memories.
Smooth exit, full success.
The next night, I picked up Adam_Zelotes and drove over to an historic building in NE that will NOT be renovated into condos, but TORN DOWN for condos! We wanted to get in there and take pictures of the place before this tragedy took place, but, unfortunately, our entrance (determined by a previous scouting mission) was no longer available.
Sort of a waste of a night, but we found another potential option for next time (we didn't have the necessary equipment with us).
