	So, basically I have had it with all of this cheap sound card bullshit and have decided to get something new. Basically what I need is something that I will not have to re-install the drivers everyday and that sounds decent. I need recommendations for an good sound card and speaker system to go with it.

	I say a Sound Blaster Audigy with the front interface for an auxilary unit and headphones. It'll run you a couple hundred though. I hear Logitech or Sony 5.1 speakers go good with that.

	Do you want all that 5.1 dolby THX stuff? If not, then look into the MAudio 2496.

	There is no real difference in the sound from a Soundblaster Live Value (10$) or Audigy (200$), only the connectors. I'd say go with the cheapest card FROM CREATIVE that has all the plugs you want, then pick up some LOGITECH speakers.
