Raw meat cat food?

Does anyone here give their cat a diet of raw meat cat food?

The reason why I'm asking is because my one cat has developed an allergy to normal cat food. Apparently, when a cat gets a food allergy, it tends to show up as a skin condition, resulting in very itchy skin typically on the neck, chin and belly. You can usually tell by the loss of fur in areas from accessive scratching and licking, and even scabs and sores from over scratching an area. My one cat has these symptoms, and I am positive its a food allergy and not lice, ticks, mites, or a fungal infection.

From the ingredients of the previous brands of dry cat food I fed my cats, I know I will have to switch to an exotic source of protein, such as rabbit, and maybe lamb. However, after browsing many brands of cat food at my local PetValue, I havent really found any that offer just rabbit (or any other exotic source of protein) without having chicken, beef or rice mixed in with the ingredients. I figure I mind as well shop around my city and find a source of some cheap rabbit meat to make my own cat food.

I came across this one website:
http://www.catfood.catnutrition.org/
The webmaster of the site seems like a pretty intelligent person when it comes to cat nutrition. She has a recipe for making your own raw cat food, in which I have the option of substituting rabbit for the chicken meat. I just have to "borrow" the meat grinder from my brothers, buy a rabbit carcass and a few other ingredients, and I will be on my way feeding my cat a raw meat diet.

Anyways, the whole point of this thread is, has anyone tried something like this? I dont really know anyone that feeds their cat a diet of raw food, especially one with a complex (and hopefully nutritiously complete) recipe such as the one on the website above. As of right now, my cat is condemned to wearing one of those veterinary "lamp shades" around his neck to keep him from scratching too much -until I get this allergy of his cleared up.

PS. Is or has anyone else here delt with a cat with a food allergy? Did you find a diet/brand of catfood that doesnt give the cat an allergic reaction?

PSS Does anyone know any farmers or butchers in the Hamilton/Toronto area who can supply me with some cheap rabbit meat? I know Fortinos here in Hamilton sells rabbit meat, except they sell it for $5.99 a pound, and I dont think the carcasses come with any organ meat.

I know I can probably find some rabbit meat here in Hamilton for cheaper then $5.99 a pound, however I mind as well ask around on here too.
