Perhaps it's because I'm still quite sleepy, but what exactly is this flowchart telling me?

There was a Russian martial arts school in Toronto run by former Spetsnaz. I dropped in on a few classes with a friend who spoke Russian. Having grown up in Okinawan Karate and Tae Kwon Do I was somewhat taken aback to see the instructor scream in Russian, and then have somebody rush him, smash a chair over him, and subsequently be taken down in about 0.8 seconds.

It's a shame the instructors really only spoke Russian, or I'd have moved into their basement and never left.

Sadly, nothing like that here in Calgary. Not even Krav Maga.

It talks about the stress a person encounters during combat and can effect there ability to fight. It allows people to rationalize why there buddy is breaking down next to them etc. Its also a interesting chart compared to Maslohows(SP) low of needs which doesnt look at half of this.

The above mention person didnt take a deeper look into things and I prefer this chart over his concept a great deal.

PS He no longer speaks just plain russian its now broken russian, and there are now alot more trainers floating around who speak complete english.

I trained with that guy a few years ago and always have a blast. Hes not into yelling but he still gets his point across no problem.

im guessing that being able to rationalize would keep you calm, and better your chances of survival? and that understanding these stresses could allow you to "talk someone down" and keep them from doing something stupid? am i anywhere close to being on the right track here?

You can also do some preventive measures. Such as proper food. Moving your camp so flora, fauna, temp + Humid etc become less of strain. This can and will decrese cold heat fear exhaustion bacterial and viral afflictions to certain degrees.

Unlike Western thinking that looks at one point and trys to fix that one thing, Russian's tend to work slightly more wholistic, and deal with the effects and the effects of each thing on other things.

One of Vlad's student said something about web logic instead of linear thinking. (Dont quote me just try to get the jist) To achieve the ability to fight one must have all these points at the maxium comfort levels afforded. Some issues will go down, such as sex drive in combat, however back in a city it may increase and cause problems. This could be caused by loneliness so treating a sex drive only stops the flooding it wont remove the water so to speak.

All ponts of a spiders web can be traveled to no mater what blocks your path. Its understanding this complexities that help the soldier, or leader in combat.
