I can't remember what they are called, but has anyone ever heard of the secret stickers or reflective thingies supposedly on the back of road signs? They are supposedly a secret set of signs for the military that shows where strategic things like airports and hospitals are for use in the event of an invasion.

You mean the ones that have the date the sign was manufactured or installed? Yeah, those are definitely secret codes!

Because it's far too hard to actually have maps of a city, or look for the signs that say "Airport", or "H". If we can't afford armor for humvees we difinetely can't afford local maps in the hummer's glovebox.

They're conspiratorically called "TacMarks" short for "Tactical Markers", but despite a somewhat-plausible conspiracy theory (so far as conspiracy theories go, they're better than say...aliens kidnapping Elvis), it doesn't seem to be a well-subscribed theory.

Heh, I found some other forums talking about this, they're hilarious

Apparently, even though the US basically created and controls NATO, and the UN is pretty much a powerless whiny bitch (unfortunately IMO), those organizations are the ones that are going to take over the world. They'll do it by reading stickers in the rearview mirror as they pass...

Ok, it all makes perfect sense now. They'll probably use the network of secret Atlantean tunnels to the center of the earth as well

Yeah, that's the stuff. I heard it go with a story about how a man saw a tractor trailer truck get into an accident and new road signs fell out of the back...except they were made by the UN for when they take over the United States with their non-existent army.

So while we are on the lines of bizarre ideas, who has heard of "chem-trails" in the sky?

I just hijacked my own thread.

There's an old nut at my mother's church who's obsessed with them, it's the US government poisoning Canadians

Heh, Some guy on MSN was talking about those, or maybe it was Avchat...

I guess there aren't enough jets and the temperature/wind is too different in Alaska, but we don't get the long lasting contrails they do in the southwest. Come to think of it I haven't seen such contrails in the midwest either. It's convenient that you only see those grid pattern contrails in the southwest, and the highest concentration of conspiracy buffs is out in the desert

Haha, that's true about most of them being in the desert. The stuff is very simply condensation, but for whatever reason it freaks people out.

It's because conspiracy nuts aren't smart enough to look at the distribution of major cities and notice that flight paths between them will tend to form intersecting lines, and that the contrails will drift a bit in the wind to form parallel lines and grids with the contrails from later flights

Also, I think they really go off on the contrails that spread out to form wide strips, 'cause it's not like wind ever does that with real clouds

Ana apparently these guys don't notice that brand new street signs will have stickers with that year on them... at least the ones I've seen. I have yet to find the "MS Frontpage Conspiracy Template" site (dark background, multicolor flashing text, tiny blurry pictures) that features different "Tac Marks", but it's gotta be out there.

As far as cemtrails go, Ive seen some very strange ones around here. Where they stop, puff a couple times and start back up. Have you not seen the pics of the Huge grid patterns. like a checker bord. There defiantly something going on. Or ive seen a plane with 2 engine leaving 4-6 separate trails.

Have you seen: www.weatherwars.info
Let that be fodder for your contrail conspiracy theory!!
There is no secret info on road signs, but you knew that already.

Just to revive an old thread...

In Canada, I can attest the military DOES use a special type of road sign, and they normally look something like this:

Chemtrails or contrails are simply weather manipulation. Nothing secret about 'em. And it's safe too. The government would not drop chemicals on us - we're tax payers!!!

We get the "chemtrails" in the south east too. Yea not exactly something I would call a threat. More nasty in the beef you buy at the walmart down the street than from a vapor trail.

I don't blame people for thier mistakes, but I do expect they pay for them.
