The Washington Post are Reuters report on these "black sites" which are being used to hold at least 30 major terror suspects, with the individuals being stripped of all human rights and contact with the outside world - endearing unlimited times of unlimited horrors on the whim of an Agent with no oversight, legal system, or review systems (no one has to give any reason for locking you up in one, you just get thrown in, never to come out).

No non-CIA contact is allowed and the locations of the facilities are known only to a select few. The use of such prisons is being used as a loophole to get around laws designed to protect prisoners from such treatment on US soil. - Something that is even now becoming less of an issue.

Reuters link

Unknown people, unknown numbers, no need to justify or explain, no rights, limitless torture, limitless executions, and all without question.

Another brick in the wall.

(Hopefully the same wall of the executions of those that are too apathetic to do anything against such things... And I do include every single person who doesn't directly stand up against their own elected government for such attrocities above and beyond everything else they have done - Either this behavior is completely acceptible to them, or they're too greedy and worthless to be considered...)

Have A Nice Day.

I did my part and posted it to Fark, aside from writing my congresscritter or blowing up some stuff I can't think of anything else to do.

I was just reading about this topic the other day in the paper. Does it really surprise anybody now days that a place like this even exists? It was just a matter of time before somebody leaked this. What isn't the CIA up to, lately they've been in the spotlight so it seems. This won't be the last time we hear about these “prisons”, questions should be asked about them and weather they should be in use. It’s also rather odd that the United Nations turns a blind eye to these places. I could be wrong though, they might not have even known about them but that could be a far cry from the truth.

I started to write a response about why the UN is worthless and what to do about it, but I figured it was kind of pointless.

Instead, I wrote to all my congresscritters and asked them to demand better military/intelligence oversight and stop taking "It's secret and we know best" for an answer. They'll probably just laugh and ask me for campaign contributions though, they're all the same

It's pretty bad when the United Nations doesn't do anything to look out for the people stuck in the "black sites" apparently there is something like at least 4 of them. This would be something very interesting to research, I guess these other countries that have the sites are really starting to take heat now, which is good.

What's the UN going to do? The US doesn't recognize their authority nor the International Criminal Court. The only way the UN could do anything would be by force, and then, win or not, a bunch of loonies would start shooting missiles to "everywhere but here".

Nor will the US be taking the UN seriously any time in the future. John Bolton, the guy Bush just assigned to be our UN rep, had these words of wisdom:
"There's no such thing as the United Nations. If the U.N. secretary building in New York lost 10 stories, it wouldn't make a bit of difference."

and:
"Diplomacy is not an end in itself if it does not advance U.S. interests."

Realistically, the US isn't going to support any organization that wants to take away our god-given right to squander most of the earth's resources and randomly attack whoever we want. As Beryl said, the UN would actually have to have a method of enforcing their decisions, and nations like the US would have to get used to sharing and playing fair. If the UN ever made a serious effort to enforce international equality and freedom, Bush would probably claim it infringed on US sovereignty, pull out of the UN, and start nuking stuff.

Edit: this isn't just a rip at Bush, there are plenty of other world leaders who would do the same thing. A few countries know the value of cooperation, but most are self-centered.

There's really nothing to say anymore to such blind belief. Discussion can't solve everything, only when both are sane...

Just more torture-to-death and blood on their hands.
And they have the nerve to complain when people want them dead after they treat random people off the street like this...

CIA interrogators tried to cover up the death of an Iraqi man who died while being interrogated at Abu Ghraib prison, Time magazine has reported, after obtaining hundreds of pages of documents, including an autopsy report, about the case.

"We don't torture!"

George W. Bush said that this past week. Therefore, the US does not torture. Issue solved. Next crisis?

Simple denial. Of course they know better than we do; they are getting rich skimming millions of of us, and we let them, so the apparently ARE smarter and more fit to lead. Nixon was denying that "any Americans have been killed in combat in Laos" when he knew full well over 200 had been killed over 5 years. You want torture? Try tiger cages and high altitude ejection from hovering helicopters. Same old story. I'm waiting for Bush to pull a Clinton and wave his finger in my face, saying: "I did NOT have combat relations with that country."

I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread.
