I swear I think my navel is rejecting again I don't know what the hell is wrong with it. If i get it pierced again it's gonna be the 4th time. I don;t know why it keeps doing that. Do you think a 10gauge teflon jewelery would help?

more than 60% of all body piercings are in a state of rejection or migration, but there are some questions that are pertinent to this situation, namely:

1. what is your cleaning regimen? depending on the anti-bac agent used, you may be cleaning too much or too little.
2. what type of jewelery is in/has been in the piercing...and what types do you wear elsewhere? you may have a localized allergy/aversion/sensitivity to it.
3. how active is the area with the adornment? does it rub on your shirt? jeans? be aware that constant irritation will prevent pretty much any piercing from healing.
4. is the outer area of the piercing dry/flaking skin? or does it have puss/crusties? if its the former it indicates migration, the latter, infection.

also keep in mind that navels take, by far, the longest to fully heal of any piercings...in some cases up to 2 full years to stop all migration.

well first off, id say switch to bactine (twice a day) or bac-tracin (once a day)...but those tend to dry out the piercing a bit.

i also think the move to ptfe would be beneficial, i have like 15 feet of the stuff, use it all the time for surface piercings. it tends to let the area heal a little faster by not fighting and straining against the skin all the time.

you might want to consider trying Ti barbells as well. you could very well have a localized aversion to steel in your navel, many people tend to develop sensitivities to silver, gold, and even stainless steel in the navel region.

and above all, try to let it ride. lots of people take out a new piercing if it gets infected or anything, re-piercing it again later. doing this will not only condition your body to keep rejecting the jewelery...but the scar tissue (and possibly even keloids) that might form, will almost NEVER heal properly anyway.

oh, and before i forget...no i dont have an iam page. unsure as to what it even is...enlighten me.

oh ok, ive browsed bme before...some pretty crazy shizzle on there. ive got enough junk to post to right now though, between LJ, MySpace, here...mebbe after the holidays ill set up another page.

on the subject of h2ocean, ive never personally used it...but depending on what the active anti-bac agents are it could very well be good product. ive talked to a few friends who have used it strictly for maintenance purposes (as opposed to fighting an active infection or migratory tendency) and they say it works well.
