Im using Digital compression connectors with it.

At work we usually use Belden 1694A, and this is to run tests with HDTV. I never purchased it, so I have no idea what the price is -Im guessing its one of the more expensive cables out there.

You dont really have to worry too much with coax anyways. You can always call up the company that your getting your service from, and just ask them. They should be able to suggest some cheaper cable that will fit your needs, or at the very least, tell you what cable they use to make the runs in peoples homes/apartments when they are installing extra outlets with HDTV.

From what I've heard I dont think you can use a digital signal on coax cable, you'd probably have better luck w/ s-video or some monster cable, it'll run you about 35 bucks though.

I'm not sure about running it through a normal cable, but you can definitely run it through an RG-6/U cable. http://en.wikipedi...wiki/Coaxial_cable

You're thinking that a square wave is being transported over a coax cable when you order digital TV or internet through a cable company.

To give you the shortest answer possible (I gotta get ready for work), the digital signal gets transformed into an analog signal so that it can travel on a coax efficiently. After you get the signal to where you want it, you convert it back again to digital (hence the cable modems when you order your internet through a cable-tv provider).

means it carries cable tv and cable internet extremely well. en.wikipedia.org has a list of almost all types of coaxial cable

Does it really make a difference??

We use regular coax we bought at Home Depot and have digital cable with a HDTV decoder, extreme-high speed cable internet and our phone lines are also on the cable lines and we have yet to have any problems at all.

Im using female to female connectors, for in the panel. Cuts down on space lost, can be a pain though. I had to use patch cables though, so I cust some a meter then coiled them and zip tied it. SO hows your system coming along?

erm... I have all my cables run, I just have to get some connectors, jacks, splitters, and build my media panel.
