This section is now the place to post your art photos and have others critique them.

Do not post something if you can't take heavy criticism.

Please be civil, however.

You've got to be kidding me, right?

Talk about overkill.

So is it know against the rules to critique a photo posted in the photography forum?

It's because people who were giving their opinion were being labelled "elitists." Yeah.

It looked to me like a bunch of sniffling vaginas. Funny? Yes. But reason enough for a new forum? No.

Well, I suppose the debate is over as for now. I completely support it since hopefully it will reduce significantly the number of topics that were going in that "sniffling vagina" direction.

why bitch ?

This is the place for people that want to be told honestly how bad their photography is. So get in there and make some people feel bad. YAY.

Might wanna sticky something along the lines of your first post av.

So is it know against the rules to critique a photo posted in the photography forum?

Wouldnt think so, but you may be called rude or an ass by people who are offended/hurt by your remarks.

i dont take my photos for arts sake,i take them for my sake.i dont really care what people think of them artisticly,i take them to show where ive been.i have posted lots of pics on this site and never had bad critisism,i always get the impression that most people are glad to look at new pics of new places and if the photos are of bad quality people are more than helpfull to help you out.i feel this is creating an elitist level.

I think something needs to be established -

This is not a place to compliment without critique. Unless you can say something that is critical of someone's work, don't post. That's what the regular photo board is for - attracting hordes of "OOOOh you are the greatest!" people.

Someone back me up.

does the critique always have to be negative? surely reinforcing the shots that do work or came out well provides as much value as pointing out the flaws? or maybe not, I learn from both I think but your point is well taken it should not be about gratuitous praise

If the comments stay constructive and on-topic, then UE Photo Critiques will be a nice asset. From what I've read and commented on so far, it seems pretty promising.
