Blurry TV

I just got a free TV off a friend of mine (he just bought a new flatscreen). Now, the trouble is, the TV image looks very blurry... almost like a combination of poor focus and bad cable signal. Even my PS2 looks quite blurry when hooked up.

I know my cable and PS2 are fine (had 'em hooked up to a small videogames tv before). Also, this TV was working fine at his place, no blurriness or anything ever.

So, is it possible for something to have maybe gotten jarred around while transporting it? Or is there some kind of focus adjustment or something I can do? It's an RCA ColorTrak if that makes any difference, from I'd say the mid-90s. I don't want to get rid of it because it's about 2.5 times as big as my old TV, but the blurriness is driving me nuts.

So there I was, in this creepy old hallway...

I remember re-doing cold saulder joints on my 32" Toshiba TV and there was a small potentiometer inside to adjust the sharpness. My Samsung monitors also had this.

Try getting some kind of service manual.

However, if it was fine before, then it could be a few other things.

Most CRT TVs and Monitors will have a focus adjustment on or near what is called the flyback transformer. It can usually be identified by the large red wire coming out of it that will attach to the back of the CRT by a rubber cup. Sometimes however the red wire will attach to a voltage multiplier, the flyback will be near that anyway. Be very careful, there can be up to 30,000 volts in that area of the TV and you need to do the adjustment while it's on. Use a good insulated screwdriver with a long handle to turn the focus adjustment.
