Animal Crossing Wild World

On my lunch hour at work I went to the local EB and picked up this little wonder along with a Nintendo DS. If you're unfamiliar with the game... its more addictive than crack. I've never taken crack but I hear from numerous possible crack users that it is more addictive then the substance.

The basic idea of the game, you move into a new town and have to pay off your debts by helping Tom Nook run his shop, then run around doing chores for the local townspeople getting more money to live the high life and make your little town into a bustling city of anthromorphic creatures.

Animal Crossing Wild World has everything Animal Crossing had for the Gamecube and everything it didn't have. As its on the Nintendo DS it is now portable, so you can play it wherever, it has the touch screen and after hours of playing I noticed I never once used the D-Pad or other buttons, rather just sliding the pen and clicking to perform my actions. Amongst other new features you can buy hats, design a town flag and even change the very cosmos by making up your own constellations. Also being on a Nintendo DS it comes with that wi-fi capabilities, not only can you play along side a friend within 100 meters of yourself but you can also connect to an unsecured wi-fi and play the game online with others online.

I have yet to experience the multiplayer aspects of the game but from what I understand, you can't just descend upon random peoples towns and begin raiding. Nintendo set up some "child friendly" buddy system where you have to have a friend code in advance, and you get this by playing with them physically.

Anyone else interested in Animal Crossing?
Or anyone got this game and got a friend code yet?

Edit:

Friend Code: 107435184443
Name: Radish
Town Name: Hearn

Here's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you.

I thought about getting this for my girlfriend, as she got a DS for her birthday, and loves Animal Crossing for the GC. But then I realized that I would probably never get to interact with her ever again if I did.

It's a drag, it's a bore, it's really such a pitty
To be lookin' at the board, not lookin' at the city.

That's probably a smart idea.

Sounds too tempting. Had it for a while (more like a week) for the gamecube until my sister pawned it (gamecube and all games).

Holy crap. There were three people playing it at a New Years party I went to. Three! And they all missed the ball dropping, and I don't think a one of them cared at all. This thing is ridiculous. Oh well. At least it's not WoW or Ragnarok in a portable version.

The game actually at midnight has its own ball dropping ceremony and celebrations to bring in the New Year. I didn't see the event and none of my friends were playing it. But one of my friends really wanted to see what the whole fuss was about.

I don't get the craze. Animal Crossing for Gamecube sucked. It's all like: "Hey, let's do pointless menial tasks... over and over!!"

Its not every ones thing - but I loved Animal Crossing for the Game Cube.

But it's the same reason why Harvest Moon is so damn fun, all you're doing is farming. The answer: I don't know but fuckkit I'm addicted.
