| UE Meet Toronto entry by Axle 1/23/2006 2:08 PM
| Well Av's on again, off again, on again, UE meet actually did happen. Didn't get off to such a great start over all. The train was late and didn't arrive until just before noon, and then it was express right to Union (grr) as Boffo, whom I met on the train, needed to get off at the Ex. So we did an interesting detour with the TTC and still arrived at the café before 1pm, not too shabby. So after a bit we headed off, it's interesting how we can sort of find each other in there, almost an explorer vibe you could say. However there was one guy that walked in and didn't have the vibe, but more like a reporter. Well it was true, he was for some ryerson paper, so he tagged along. Much to the chargen of Av, who wasn't there to stop us, we went and visited the Wellington Incinerator. Man what an awesome place! Stan, the guy who lives there has accumulated pile and piles of stuff and has it all neatly organized through the entire building. After we spent a good hour at least in the place we got out and all gathered 'round on the street corner to dicuss where we were going next as the reporter posed questions to various people there, myself included (don't worry I didn't give away any secrets). The reporter then left so we could start doing some more serious planning. We decided to check out the basement of the Sheaton Hotel for the old movie theater down there. We arrived and were turned back by barricades, security cameras, and suspious glances by well dressed patrons of the Hotel. So we escaped into the PATH system and ended up eating dinner in the Eaton's Center. After that we all decided to check out this supposably abandoned/semi-active hospital near the Don Jail. So after getting lost with Cybershoe, we got there found a parking spot and met up with the group in the first car. So there we stood outside this place and went. "Looks rather active" "Yeah" "Plan B" "Sounds good" We visited the brickworks. Had some interesting times in there, then all spilt up and went home. The brickworks would've been better if two of the guys there weren't complaining the whole time how lakeview would've been better. Sure it would've but the whole getting caught thing sort of nulled that. Galleries, right! http://luyckxnet.n...ery2/v/wellington/ - Incinterator http://luyckxnet.n...2/v/dv-brickworks/ - Brickworks
