laptop screen spots?

Ok I have a Dell Latitude laptop and it has 3 spots on the screen. One of them is about the size of a pencil eraser and seems to come from the IBM eraser-heas style mouse. They don't seem to be on the surface beecause the screen is super smooth and clean, and the image shows up just fine behind them. I've tried to clean them without sucess. I'm just confused about what they are or what caused them to appear.

Here is the biggest spot. They are not easy to photograph.

Any suggestions?

They make some really good lcd scratch repair compounds that might fix this up okay. It's hard to tell but it almost looks like you have some smashed cells so all the rubbing in the world won't fix it if it's not a surface problem.

You will learn to ignore him in time, like the rest of us.

it's caused by compression of the outter film of the LCD against the pixels of the LCD, the only thing you can do is let it sit, there is no real easy way to fix it, if you take it to a shop, their answer will be to replace it. If it is still under warranty I would get it replaced.
