I order you all to see this movie at once. It was a great movie.

It's (mostly) about racism in the LA valley. It was well-written and well-acted. It's one of those movies where after you finish it, you're genuinely glad you saw it.

Sometimes, you need to march right in and demand your rights, even if you don't know what your rights are, or who it is you're talking to. Then, on your way out, slam the door.

It was directed by the guy who wrote Million Dollar Baby (and a Canadian as well). Very, very good film. Released at the same time as Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, which was a tepid bucket of swill, Sandra Bullock totally redeems herself in Crash.

What a dreadful, preachy, PC film....Skip that one and rent Cronenberg's "Crash" instead.

Unfortunately, there are a few utterly unwatchable Cronenberg films. And Crash was one of them.

He makes three types of movies:
1) unwatchable crap
2) utterly weird and imaginative
3) commercial, but with his touch

Examples:
1) eXistenZ, Crash
2) Naked Lunch, Dead Ringers, Spider
3) The Dead Zone, The Fly, A History Of Violence

There is a fourth type of Cronenberg film, his early low budget horror films like Scanners, Rabid and The Brood (maybe Videodrome too) that are in a zone all to themselves. True creative work with next to no money.

Spider was a masterpiece. I've seen it three times now, and every time, I enjoy it as much as the last.

Has anyone see the OTHER Crash movie? About car crashes? BTW it's NC-17. When everyone started saying stuff about this movie I was surprised to say the least.
