I noticed mearns ave ends or rather it becomes an unopened road. I drove down as far as i could and walked in to see what was of interest. Didnt find any abandoned buildings but i did find this burnt out car pictured below. Funny thing is ,the path seems to narrow too get the car up to where i found it.
I should mention that Mearns ave. is in Bowmanville and that it is on the north end of Mearns that you will find the unassumed road

You found a little hidden gem. Looks like it's a Mercury Topaz or Ford Tempo.

It looks to end ,but as you pass the barn on the right the road dips down and a sign indicating it is an unopened road comes into view. If you follow that road down you will come to a communications tower. I parked there and hoofed it the rest of the way. Make sure not to park in front of the gate that leads to the tower. the first time i was down there some Telus trucks were pulled into that section so they may visit it on a regular basis

I was looking for this spot today. I was heading north and just at the unopened road sign the road turns to the west??? There was a lot number which made me think I was in the wrong spot. As I started to drive down the road, thru the trees, I saw what looked like a house on the left. I didn't go any further.

i believe there is a house to the right of the entrance to the dirt road. The road you want to follow dips down and is to the immediate left of the red barn

Once I got through the trees there was a house on my left. I saw no signs of a red barn.

Time to dig out Google Maps and put a thumbtack exactly where it is.

follow mearns right out of town.You will see a field with goats,lambs,donkeys and a lamba.Keep going straight and where the yellow sign says unopened road, that is the dirt road you want

i will drive up there today and make sure all the info i am giving is correct, also i will look for any other markers that may help to identify the way

I live within that map, hehee. Nice area. I go for walks up Mearns regularly. I probably saw you driving in there.

AHHHH.....now I know. I know where the goat farm is on the corner.

I know the Macs well as well as Frostys pub. Nice little plaza. Did you get into that abandoned house at the SW corner of Concession and Mearns? It's demoed now, but sat empty for a while.

Here's a kitty at Mearns/Conc 3 trying to act all stealthy but unaware he's not exactly concealing himself at all. You can see his eye peering towards me as if he's the shit:

Then further down the road, I think on Conc 3, a guy driving towards me made no attempt at all to swerve for this nursing mother raccoon. I dragged her to the side of the road to give her a tad more dignity. Damn fast drivers!
