also 25watt FRS is great for pwning n00bs at local sporting events and ski hills. "bob can you see me on the ski jump? HEY BITCH I WANT TO SUCK YOUR MOM'S FAT TITS OVER?"

At work, when we do big stores where it requires us to use some lously talkabouts, I use my nice Icom IC-U16 @ 5W and it goes something like this

Kay: "Hey Randy, where are you?"
Randy: "Wha?"
Me: "RANDY KAY WANTS TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE"
Randy: "Um...Thanks Ryan for that ultra loud message..."

Those bubblepacks are a joke.

Can the IC-U16 come with a DTMF pad?

I have three Pryme PR-460's, and may need another good radio that I can program and find parts for if needed. I'm using Icom's F420 right now. A nice 35w over those .5w drive the local kiddies up the wazoo! lol

Here's the Owners Manual:

http://www.repeate...6-u16-user-man.pdf

Even though it says there are 3 different versions of the U16, they all go out of band pretty easily without any problems.

Who....i had my UEr settings wrong, and missed a LOT of traffic......rail freq's...hell yah, I got em...all of them, and who uses what, and where.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too!

Right, with a fast scanner that's great, you can just lock out the yard freq's, and listen to the road channels. With an older slower scanner, it is useful to have just the local road freq's it in...to save memory, and speed.

Sorry for the late-ass reply ---

You can disable inhibit when programming Motorola radios. Just un-check the option for Selective Inhibit. Voila... the radio will just ignore it.

My MTS2000 has it as a selectable option. However, it's not supported in the flashcode 000000-000001-9,so you can't check it anyway. It does speak MDC1200, though.

Apparently you have to register digital trunking scanners with the gov't now in Canada?

Anyone know about this?

Nope...it was PROPOSED but it never happened. Unfortunately, some outfits got confused and thought it did happen.

Interesting. I think when I was looking some months ago (about a year after I got mine) and scanner master thought that it had happened.

Scanner Master and I think RadioWorld act like it did happen. I've heard of a few people disputing it face to face with people at RadioWorld.

ExKa knows about it more.

Here's a little background on the failed attempt to require a license for a scanner in Canada: http://forums.radi...anner-license.html
