| | | 1979 Chevy k10. Got a 350, between 350-400 horsepower, steadily detuning it, more reliability, less power. got an sm465 three speed with low gear, low gear ratio is 6.55:1. Np205 transfer case, low range is 1.96:1. Twelve bolt rear with posi and ten bolt front, 4.56 gears. Runnin 35x12.50r15 Super Sport Radial HT's on 15x8 steelies. I've rolled it twice now, it's covered in dents, the front bumper has a crooked smile, it's got mud on the ceiling, and I've had it deep enough that the stereo no longer works. Gets me to work every day. In the future are 38" TSLs, a full float rear, electric front winch, PTO rear winch, bucket seats, internal cage, and MORE DENTS! | | | 1987 Suzuki Samurai JX. I first saw these things in the Bahamas in 1982. At the time, they were 900cc, 2WD, chain drive. I always said if they ever came to the US, I was an owner. Cut to 1985. I'm in Houston and what puls up next to me? Suzuki! The early models were Scamps, not Samurais, but its what I wanted. I got 128,000 plus miles out of the original motor, and it is currently at the machine shop being bored and having the heads done. Its getting the full Calamini kit, including Weber carb, cam, oversized pistons, etc. Its also getting a 2.5 gallon reserve fuel tank, and an air locker for the rear. This is my ghost town machine, and I love it because it is narrow enough to ride on the ridges between the ruts! Mods: Goodyear LT tires, Bilstein gas shocks, removed the belt driven fan and replaced it with two electric fans, alternator from a Volvo, dual batteries, LED driving and fog lamps custom built by my Dad, K&N air filter system, removed AC compressor and bracket, and installed evaporative ram-air cooler of my own design.
| I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread. |
