One of the first Conroe based mobos from Gigabyte is available, but not cheap. Lowest price is so far is $279 at newegg.com http://www.newegg....em=N82E16813128323

Even so it is a beauty, boasting ALL solid state capacitors for long life. About time. All heat pipe passive chipset cooling, sweet. I'm tempted, but will wait.

Just think what else is coming! I love chipset heat pipe cooling; it rules. I could drop that mobo straight into either one of Lian Li cases, and it be good to go with just a heat pipe on the CPU.

Yep. I'm pretty excited about what we'll be seeing in the next 6 months. Conroe has set a new bar for CPU performance, so now chipset makers will be scrambling to harness and optimize it. Should be some interesting designs coming up.

The chipset heatpipes are very nice, I'm sure you wouldn't need to invest in anything extra with that kind of cooling.

It's important to have a rear exhaust fan venting the back mobo chipset heat pipe condenser, and a PS with a bottom fan or duct to a rear fan for the top heat pipe condenser. CPU heat sink exhaust shouldn't be used to cool chipset heat pipe condenser. Again using a ductible heat pipe style heat sink like the Aeroccol 1000 in a push-pull configuration venting directly out the back works extremely well, and will support a modest OCed system. This how my AMD machine is built, and I'm very pleased with it.

Soo sexy... After my IC7-G motherboard, I promised myself that I would never get a motherboard with a fan on the NB chipset. My AN8-SLI is proving to me that I made the right decision. Ah, and the 8 SATA 2 ports can't forget about those

Although it does disappoint me that there is onboard audio. Motherboard manufacturers have yet to learn that AC'97 is not worth the room it uses. Maybe if they did something with the creative xi-fi chipset.

P.S. They also need to find a way to move the NB up so the top video card is in the top slot, because otherwise you are wasting all but one of your PCI/PCI-E slots....

But, all in all, a good board.
