Corsair CMPSU-620HX 620 Watt Power Supply

It seems really tight with a high power correction factor, and rock steady voltage regulation, if this review is accurate. Hmmmm, a little too good to be true. The fan is punching out 39 db (more like 42 at full load, maybe), and with modular connections at the PS it's possible to have a failure.

This review shows more V fluctuation on power rails, and specs the V ripple too. This seems like a more realistic review. It has a 5 year warranty, and is selling for about a $160. It's a very good PS and just might be my next PS.

I really love my Enermax noise-taker. 2 years old but solid! And reallllllly quiet.

I have a 500, and600 watt Enermax, and I liked it too. Until 600 watt one blew out with less than 200 hours on it. I'm not so thrilled anymore.

Is your fire insurance paid up? If it overloads, shorts out, whatever, and it draws less current then that circuits breaker/fuse trip current, the line cord, PS, or wire and/or components can catch fire. If it was blowing fuses to begin with there's a problem. Shuting the machine off when your not there may not render it safe.

Yeah it didn't blow up for the fun of it.

It probably burnt out cause 175 watts is not a lot at all. Your total current draw was probably too much thus bruning the fuse meaning you'll burn the whole power supply with the penny.

masher; you NEVER seize to amaze when it comes to you and electronics.
