Just wondering how many of you only buy your games, how many exclusively pirate, and how many are on the fence? I use torrents sometimes, for games I don't care enough to spend money on (or when I'm out of cash), and I buy as much as possible. I also download when my parents won't let me buy a game (GTA: San Andreas is dling at 25kb/s and should be done in a couple days if I download only at night).

Uh, depends how much money i have and on the quality of the game. If it's something like oblivion, I'll buy it. But other things are a no-go. I actually ordered San Andreas and had it shipped to my house without my parents even knowing.

I only buy if I need a CD key.

A bit off-topic, but how did you manage that? Do you have your own paypal account? Or was it mail-order or something? I've ordered very very sensitive things through the mail before from mail-order companies with little hassle. But GTA: SA is such a popular game that I think the employees at Rockstar have plenty of money, so I don't feel morally wrong downloading large games like that.

Edit: Woot, 20%

Edit: Wahoo, one third of the way there!

When I can afford a game, I buy it. I even like to purchase games I've already pirated when I get the money for them. But, I also like to be exposed to as many games as possible, so buying them all really isn't feasible on a college student's salary.

I'm a big fan of the Battlefield series of games, and love playing online. For games like that, I don't have a choice but to buy them, and I don't mind. For other games, I usually try to download them via torrent.

Except for Half Life 2. And Oblivion. I bought those.

Both, usually if i like a game enough, or if i like playing it online i'll buy it. Most keygens/cracks wont work well online.
