We all know Amtrak is a sucky name. Amtrak's successor in this case would be a hypothetical network of high-speed and commuter rail.

I'm thinking...

Amerail. *cringes*

If they name a railroad after that son of a bitch... isnt it bad enough that they have painted a locomotive in "honor" of him, despite the fact there is nothing honorable about him... oh lord, I think I might kill myself if they named Amtrak after him.

Hahahah....

Over on Railroad.net in one of the threads about the idea of possibly making the NEC a seperate railroad from Amtrak, someone asked what would they name it and of course, someone said "Pennsylvania Railroad" and that joke flew right over the guy who posted the questions head because he didn't get it.

[last edit 10/19/2006 1:24 AM by SteamPunk - edited 1 times]

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too!

in the beginning VIA ran the CN passenger trains, early VIA trains had the CN wet noodle logo but CN at the time was a crown corporation

You're the American, you tell me!

But the engine itself was painted to honour G. Bush Senior... There's a lengthy discussion about the engine in this very forum.
